Some people have swallowed the propaganda it’s a new cold war era - but then it was all about IDEOLOGY – and today in case anyone was unaware Communism is no longer a threat anywhere – which is of course a problem – as then it was simple to define our enemy.

Ideological has returned. The United States, China, and Russia – are competing for more than material power although you would not know it, as it is festering under the propaganda surface. It could be said there is a competition for Hearts and Minds and into this mix let us not forget Radical Islam.

Radical Islam has been forced into occupying a back seat in the Hearts and Minds game.

The US is a Christian driven belief ideology and its war on Islam or Crusade as Bush called it - changed direction as it ran out of steam. It’s neo liberal ideology pushed all over the world sold to ordinary folk as “freedom and democracy” actually delivers for ordinary people increasing poverty, social division and incredible inequality.

Taken to its extremes, this new Western ideological struggle for fairness and equality leads to universal similarities, destroying the diversity of social and even physical identities. We all dress from the same shops, buy our food from the same shops, listen to the music pumped out to distract us, learn the same curriculum, while being taught thought the mainstream media to see the world in simplistic ways, good and evil - while we are all repeatedly told we are individuals with all the rights individuals should have, that only money can buy..

We are constantly told China and Russia are lumped together – ruled by one person and that is bad as there is no freedom or democracy. But that is simplistic propaganda designed to make them seem dangerous enemies.

One could say that China and Russia are very different ideological models.

China is a mixture of Marxist-Leninist-Maoist socialism blended with traditional Confucianism and legalism, all boosted by advanced digital technology. The West increasingly fears China not only due to the growth of their economic and military power. BUT MOST SIGNIOFICANTLY OF ALL because modern China’s hugely successful record of development seems to validate their ideology.

The pandemic demonstrated the efficiency of China’s system. While most Western nations, as well as Russia and India, disastrously failed to protect their populations from the disease, the world’s most populous country effectively won the battle against the virus in record time. Meanwhile the rest demonstrate their ineptitude for the world to laugh at..
China’s system has a dystopian streak, BUT it is currently the most effective one when it comes to providing material wealth for the masses and protecting human life.

It is true that China lacks individual freedoms, but do humans really need freedoms that only money can buy?
Meanwhile in Russia - President Vladimir Putin is not interested to revive the communist Soviet Union. In fact Putin, in short, is no communist. His system of top-down government, is probably the only possible way Russia could continue to exist as a single political entity.

Putin has NO plans to build an overseas empire. Putin’s system is utterly opposed to revolution. His spiritual confidant, the Russian Orthodox Church incessantly warns about the dangers inherent in uprisings and upheaval. The Russian leader himself openly detests instability as a fundamental evil, having said, “Russia’s political system is evolving steadily so as to prevent any revolutions. We have reached our limit on revolutions.”

Putin’s Russia has its ideals mainly in the past. That’s a major reason why the ideology of modern Russia appeals to many right-wing conservatives in Europe and North

North America who see Russia as the last major state that adheres to the values of what used to be European Christian civilization. Putin’s Russia has another advantage among the competing ideologies, because for Putin’s state, order is prioritised. No woke nonsense for Putin.

Another attraction of the Russian system is that, despite imperfections in political and civil rights, it probably boasts one of the highest levels of private freedom in the world. The state in Russia is generally reluctant to intervene in the private lives of its subjects, and does not seek this capacity, outside of the most recent Covid-19 measures, which have been opposed and overhauled in equal measure.

The Russian model does have one major drawback. It is ill-suited to deliver economic and technological development. For a decade now, Russia’s economy has been stagnating and it is unlikely to take off soon. Putin is aware of this lack of economic dynamism, accepting it as a reasonable price for political and social tranquillity.

To achieve breakthroughs in development, you need to be willing to conduct massive society wide experiments, sometimes bordering on revolution.

For all the differences in their ideological beliefs, the USA, West and the Communist-ish-led China share the taste for experimenting with their future.

It is an irony lost on few that the new facial recognition system being developed in China to provide security in public places is called Sky Net, the name the dystopian AI that haunts the world of The Terminator films.

Humanity can now choose between the West’s wokeism, Russia’s neo-feudal conservatism, and China’s slightly dystopian digital socialism. It is far from a wide selection on the menu, but it’s good to have a choice anyway.

Ideology of the Chinese Communist Party.
In the early days of this party, the prevailing nationalism and populism in 1910s China played an important part in the ideology of early communists such as Li Dazhao and Mao Zedong. On the one hand, Marxism was a spiritual utopia to the early communists, while, on the other hand, they modified or "Sinicized" some doctrines of communist ideology in a realistic and nationalist way to support their revolution in China. These ideological syntheses led to the emergence of the famous Great Leap Forward movement and the Cultural Revolution.[1]

In recent years, it has been argued, mainly by foreign commentators, that the CCP does not have an ideology, and that the party organization is pragmatic and interested only in what works.[2]

The party itself, however, argues otherwise.[3] For instance, CCP general secretary Hu Jintao stated in 2012 that the Western world is "threatening to divide us" and that "the international culture of the West is strong while we are weak ... ideological and cultural fields are our main targets".[2] The CCP puts a great deal of effort into the party schools and crafting its ideological message.[2] Before the "Practice Is the Sole Criterion for Truth" campaign, the relationship between ideology and decision-making was a deductive one, meaning that policy-making was derived from ideological knowledge.[4] Under Deng, this relationship was turned upside down, with decision-making justifying ideology and not the other way around.[4] Lastly, Chinese policy-makers believe that one of the reasons for the dissolution of the Soviet Union was its stagnant state ideology. They therefore believe that their party ideology must be dynamic to safeguard the party's rule, unlike the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, whose ideology became "rigid, unimaginative, ossified, and disconnected from reality."[4]

In the article "Revolutionary Ideals are Higher than Heaven-Studying" (published in 2013), a person writing under the pen name "Autumn Stone", supports CCP General Secretary Xi Jinping's policy of strengthening the ideological conviction of party cadres, since (as the Leninist mantra goes) ideological unity leads to party unity.[5] The writer claims "Ideals and convictions are the spiritual banners for the united struggle of a country, nation and party, wavering ideals and convictions are the most harmful form of wavering."[5] Adhering to the ideals and convictions of the party creates a link between the party and the masses, and will let the party "gain victories wherever" it goes.[5] Since the dissolution of the Soviet Union, the core spiritual values of members have become more important than ever, considering the restrengthened position of world capitalism.[5] Xi Jinping believes that wavering conviction in the party's ideals leads to increased corruption and unwanted behaviour.[5] Exemplary members have existed before, such as Xia Minghan who said "Don't fear being beheaded, as long as one's ism is true", Yang Chao's "The heaven's are full of rain, wind and worry, for the Revolution, it is unnecessary to fear losing one's head" and Fang Zhimin's statement that "The enemy can only cut off our heads, but cannot shake our beliefs!"[5] The author suggest that these men were incorruptible because they carried the party's ideals and convictions.[5] The dissolution of the Soviet Union, the writer suggests, was in key parts due to the ideological wavering of officials; claiming that even Mikhail Gorbachev, the last Soviet leader, had acknowledged in private that communist ideals had become obsolete to him.[5] Disintegration in the ideological arena can lead to breaches in other areas of the party's edifice, paving the way for party collapse, the author states.[5]

In 2006, at the 16th Plenary Session of the 16th Central Committee, the CCP leadership under General Secretary Hu Jintao expressed the need to create a new value system, referred to as the socialist core value system.[6] In his speech, entitled "Resolution on Major Issues Concerning the Building of a Socialist Harmonious Society", to the 16th Plenary Session Hu Jintao stated;[7]

The guiding ideology of Marxism, the common ideal of the socialism with Chinese characteristics, the national spirit with patriotism as the core, the spirit of the times with reform and innovation as the core, and the socialist concept of honour and disgrace constitute the basic contents of the socialist core values system. We should persist in integrating the socialist core values system into the entire process of national education and the building of a spiritual civilization and having it run through the various aspect of the modernization drive.[8]

Ideology's just a cereal box religion. (Stolen from Edie Brickell and the New Bohemians song, "What I am.") A smile on a dog :)

Frosties! Cornflakes! or Coco pops. Maybe it's time to stop eating the same manufactured dross and change ones diet. Not easy for some though, thinking out side the box of cereals being fed to us, is a frightening prospect for them. Hopefully time will open their eyes.

I had to chuckle to myself at Tsunamis copy and past from Wiki. A perfect example of not thinking for oneself.

.Maglorian, AvitoDauphine, Wandering4Fun, Witheflow, withgoodintent, to use just a few of your names, you cannot escape your neo liberal cabal by pretending to have socialist ideals and pretending to care about others and pretending to want to help the poor. You really nasty piece of work.
You mock council house tenants? You laugh at littered communities? You make racist comments? You make snide homophobic remarks? You hate seeing the poor being helped and attack every thread where caring people try to help others. The use of fake images, verbal insults to “non-agreers”, multi profiles including a female one with access to the “ladies” room.
The only contribution you have made to the forum is reviving all the excellent votes which float around whenever one of the abhorrent trolls makes an unwelcome appearance.

That is just a small part of the ideology of the CCP

Dolphins. Tim Buckley

Sometimes I think about Saturdays child
And all about the times when we were running wild
I’ve been a searchin’
For the dolphins in the sea
Ah but sometimes I wonder
Do you ever think of me?

This old world will never change
The way it’s been
And all our ways of war
Can’t change it back again

I’ve been searchin’
For the dolphins in the sea
Ah but sometimes I wonder
Do you ever think of me?

Lord I’m not the one to tell
This old world how to get along
I only know that peace will come
When all our hate is gone

I’ve been a searchin’
For the dolphins in the sea
Ah but sometimes I wonder
Do you ever think of me?

This old world will never change
This old world will never change
This old world will never change

If you know or think someone else will soon add a comment, you don't need to "bump" a net linked post because that other comment, (unlike the net linked one you may have posted), will be seen by the site robot and the whole post will go to the top of the 'new post' stack. :)

Mags.

Buckley is a GENIUS who plays his voice like an instrument.

A beautiful man who died far too young; as did his own son, Jeff, who was also a highly gifted musician who died tragically at a young age.

This is my favourite Buckley track. It's been covered by scores and scores of other famous musicians. (You've, no doubt, seen me offer up this link before but lets enjoy it again.:-)

Song to the Siren. Tim Buckley.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vMTEtDBHGY4

Interesting fact

This was Buckley's FIRST ever TV appearance ...on the very last Monkey's TV show.

His management wanted him to play a track from his current new album, (obviously to promote it), but Tim decided to play this masterpiece instead.

When I'm gone from these pages, please remember me whenever you encounter this song. x
