Were you a mod or rocker. Did you like bikes or scooters? Leathers or Ben Shermans?

That was a long time ago but I remember the Mods and the Rockers very well. I was a Ben Sherman type of guy.

I remember my mate Biker Bob making an unforgettable and now famous speech about We will fight them on the beaches ... a bit rough around Brighton!

I was neither one or the other, I suppose I was a 'mocker', as there was stuff from both sides that I enjoyed! lol

I think I was a Rod. initially at least. Road a motorbike wearing a miniskirt. My boyfriend was a Rocker with a Velocette but my mother objected to me riding pillon with him. Solution - got my own little bike and he taught me to ride it safely. Mind you, when the weather got cold he gave me an old jacket and I bought a pair of boy's jeans in the market, much to my mother's disgust. A few years later I got boots and waterproof jacket from Lewis Leathers. Still got them 50 years later. Wore the jacket on my mobility scooter the other week.

I'm to young, they're just something I have vague memories of seeing on the news as a child, but if I had been around I probably would of been a rocker.

I think the mod/rocker era died out in the. Mid 70s but the individuals themselves carried on right up to the present day.

Pillion on a big motorbike is very different from the sedate scooter.

Hanging next to my m/c jacket is an original moddy parka with the big fluffy hood and baggy bottom. My younger brother's. He wore it when riding his Moped.

I remember the Brighton thing...even though I was only 7.......

I grew up more of a rocker......bikes and all.......scooters didn't seem right....

I was a fan of The Who though......

The bloke who owns a 'Crime through Time' museum near here, bought a lot of the Quadrophenia film stuff......The scooters and all.....He has them all on display....

He bought the old prison in Littledean.......from the company I used to work for in the 80's.......Our company had bought it when it was derelict...and did it up into a Computer room/Data centre......I worked out there for a few years.....

They had to keep some of it as it was....Listed building etc....and some of the old cells....

It's now a museum.....and some pretty gruesome stuff in it.......All sorts of crime through time.....

All that was finishing really when I came of age, but I would have classed as a slob or a hippy....not changed overly much.
