One of my favourite comedy characters is coming back.

Alan Partridge.

He is 'temporarily' co hosting an early evening 'One show' type spoof, 6 half hour episodes.

A great comedy creation. One of my favourites ever.

And Steve Coogan is supposed to be very good as Laurel in "Stan & Ollie"

Afraid I'm no fan of Alan Partridge either. I've also heard the Stan & Laurel film is good.

He is one of those creations that divides opinion, a bit like David Brent from 'The Office'

Not everyone gets it, in fact only me on here, but I love it. Intentional cringe comedy, intentional embarrassing comedy, which makes it hilarious to me. Steve Coogan plays him really well.

Partridge is an amalgamation of DJ's, Presenters and Sports reporters through the years, some of whom I have really enjoyed, some who are plonkers, some coming out with ridiculous sayings.

Ricky Gervais's David Brent is a similar type of thing. And the other characters in the show. Another amalgamation of office types you have met over the years, managers who think they are it, but actually full of embarrassing cringe again. But mighty funny, in my opinion.

A type of comedy that I wish I had the talent to write. I think they are genius to make it work like it does.

I probably haven't convinced anybody on here, but I will be enjoying it all anyway.

Stan and Ollie, was I thought a very good film , I knew very little of the two of them at least I stayed awake, to watch this one, and not like the other evening I slept through Mary Poppins, apart from the beginning about 20 minutes , and woke at the end
