Timmee Male (61) from Hampshire

I confess I am a bit contrarian in my outlook. I like to question and pick apart the standard, popular narratives about stuff. Despite this unfortunate habit (and lack of a pretty countenance), I like to believe that I am in basically favour of niceness, fairplay, motherhood & apple pie.

Moving swiftly on, I adore mountain biking in my local New Forest area and I enjoy walking too. I luv taking photos and have tons on facebook & flickr so feel free to ask. It's not necessary to participate in energetic sports to meet me for a coffee, day out or whatever. Also I won't ask to photograph you naked - well...probably not on the first date! I'm hoping to find a friendly Midsummer Lady who fancies some weekday pub/restuarant lunches, cinema/theatre visits or even day-tips out (IOW, Bath, Weymouth etc. etc.) Since I don't work full-time, I'm usually available weekdays and some occasional company for trips out would be nice.

Small Print:
I don't want to mislead anyone so please note that I'm not looking for a marriage (unless you are extremely wealthy, of course.) I don't want to move into your place or vice-versa. If (like me) you'd just like some friendly company of the opposite sex, some nice trips out, or possibly a little bit more, then please do send me a message. I'm not 'pushy' in any way, so friendly chatty meets that go no further are just fine (although going further might be fun). I'm not sure whether MSE members ever actually meet eachother, but just in case they do - I am available LOL.

Shopping Don't mind shopping for cycling stuff and boys toys LOL. Okay I don't mind pushing a trolley round the local supermarket either.
DIY Don't Ask!
Housework Ditto
Dining out Oh yes. Indian Chinese and Steak/Chicken Mexican. A little Italian occasionally. (I only like Italians if they're short!)
Movies Yes but don't go very often. Little Miss Sunshine, Thelma and Louise, Atonement, Secrets & Lies and too many more to mention
Theatre Loved Noel Coward's 'Private Lives' at Salisbury Playhouse. The JB Preistleys were good too.
Music Wide ranging tastes - I like a variety. I like the Jools Holland 'Later' show as it has all sorts and they're all great musicians. I enjoy Bach, Mozart, Beethoven and all those dead foreign guys LOL.
Gigs Not for ages. Been to see The Undertones, Emmylou Harris, Thin Lizzy in the past. Went to see some Bach at Smiths Square during the Bach anniversary.
Pubs Not a boozer but enjoy a small drink and a chat. Don't enjoy noisy drunken environments
Clubbing Nah.....LOL ( see above)
Newspapers and magazines What Mountainbike LOL. ;-)
Books I know it's wierd for a guy but my fave author is Jane Austen. Modern authors I've enjoyed are Donna Tartt, Tom Wolfe, Tom Sharpe, Evelyn Waugh, and loads of others.
TV 24, West Wing, Newsnight, Dramas like Clocking Off, and Life On Mars. Rising Damp, Likely Lads and loads more.
Watching sport Wimbledon, Tour de France, and OF COURSE...the mountain biking on Extreme Sports Channel.
Playing sport I cycle and used to play squash and badminton...It's just mountain biking these days.
Hobbies Love to go for country walks and weekends away.

Hopes and dreams icon My hopes and dreams

In ten years I see myself Well I hope I'm still breathing - and hopefully mountain biking too.
Who would I invite to a dinner party? I'll go for Germaine Greer, Ed Byrne, and Mary Berry. Silly sounding answer maybe but it would be entertaining..and the cakes would be fab!
My ideal date Lovely gentle Cycle on Thames Path with coffee & cake stops. A great meal and then enormous amounts of fabulous SEX!!!
What would I never, ever give up? It'd be a tough choice between the Crack Cocaine addiction, the Serial Murders, or my pipe & slippers! ;-)
If I had to give a speech on a subject I was passionate about ... The impoverishment of Britain by an illusory economic boom that was really an asset bubble funded by credit.
(I'm kind of joking by giving this answer but at the same time it's true)
If I could visit anywhere in the world at any time in history Had fantastic stay in Capetown and the Cape area. I love Whitby and the North Yorks Coast. So much of the world is beautiful.
If I had a million pounds to give to charity It'd be nice to cure cancer and the Haitians are pretty needy at the moment.
My "and finally" section ... Just like any contestant looking for your votes, I'd work tirelessly for World Peace, Motherhood and Apple Pie.
