I don't really think what anyone writes in this part amounts to a can of beans as you never know what someone is like until you've had the chance to chat a bit and hopefully go on to meet. So if you want to get in touch, please do. It would be really nice to hear from you.

My hobbies and interests

Cooking	Enjoy cooking and baking, especially when doing it for someone else to share.
Shopping	Don't have a problem with it.
DIY	Know my way round the toolkit, so not a bad DIYer.
Housework	Keep the place generally tidy as I go along.
Dining out	Quite like to eat out. Indian, Chinese, Italian or pub.
Movies	Like the movies, you can't beat seeing the big films on the big screen. Try and go 2-3 times a month depending on what's showing. Like all sorts of film although not a massive horror fan.
Theatre	Occasionally go to the theatre.
Music	Like all sorts of music, popular music not keen on heavy rock/thrash or some types of Jazz.
Gigs	Quite like the occasional big arena event (when you can get tickets). Seen Simply Red, Genesis, Lionel Ritchie, Billy Ocean, Elton John, Eric Clapton plus others in the past.
Pubs	Not a drinker so don't go the pub that often, other than for a meal out, but quite happy to meet up in one. Don't have a problem if you like a drink.
Clubbing	Not into clubs.
Newspapers and magazines	Generally read a daily on-line.
Books	Like reading. e.g. James Herbert, Chris Ryan, Andy McNab, Dale Brown, Clive Cussler etc.
TV	Like documentaries/investigative type programmes, National Geographic/Discovery, comedies like Only Fools & Horses, Peter Kay and US shows. Not keen on soaps or reality so don't watch them, but if you are, no problem.
Watching sport	Generally watch the football highlights if in (but not essential), and the big world tournaments i.e. World Cup, Olympics/World Championships, F1, Wimbledon
Playing sport	Badminton (although still looking for a new club to join)
Hobbies	Like 10 pin bowling, snooker, countryside, walking, some cycling (bit of a fair weather cyclist though).

My hopes and dreams

In ten years I see myself	happy and healthy
Who would I invite to a dinner party?	Billy Connolly & Peter Kay (for the laughter) and maybe Neil Armstrong to ask what it was really like to walk where no-one has been before & to experience being as far away from home as it's currently possible to be.
My ideal date	Something relaxed for an inital meet-up so a coffee or a drink would be a nice place to start off.
What would I never, ever give up?	Your health. Not much point having lots of everything if you're not well enough to enjoy it.
If I had to give a speech on a subject I was passionate about ...	Am interested in many topics and issues.
If I could visit anywhere in the world at any time in history	.
If I had a million pounds to give to charity	GOSH/Cancer/Guide dogs
