I am an Italian and I have lived in England for thirtysix years mainly in and around London.

I am a retired computer programmer with plenty of free time my favourite activity being painting and country walking. I walk with the local Ramblers and I like to have walking holidays on my own especially the little islands in the Medirterranean and the Canary Islands

I like to talk a lot and I am learning to listen.

I can be a very good friend and I have friends I have known for a very long time but I do not make friends easily.

I do have a good sense of humour, that at least is what I belive people think of me, but , I am afraid, I cannot write witty profiles of myself.

I would like some female friends that are local and I can easily meet.

I am single and I have given up the search of the 'special one' ordinary good friends would be just fine. Of course if the 'special one' were to turn up I will not send her away.

My hobbies and interests

Cooking	I do enjoy cooking but I very seldom do. My favourite style is ,of course, Italian.
Shopping	I do not loathe shopping but I like getting over it quite quickly.
DIY	I am not very good at manual work. I can cope.
Housework	I live on my own and housework is a very unloved necessity.
Dining out	I like eating out in moderation. I like my food but I am very adaptable on this.
Movies	I can enjoy a movie but they are rather unimportant to me.
Theatre	I am afraid I am guilty on this subject I would probably enjoy it but I never go.
Music	I used to go to classical music concerts but that was a long time ago. Music is not important for me.
Gigs	I tend to avoid noise at all costs.
Pubs	I do go to the pub occasionally
Clubbing	Clubbing days behind me
Newspapers and magazines	I read newspaper on line. I read The Daily Telegraph, The Guardian The Independent I used to read The Times when it was free
Books	I tend to read factual books (history, science) with the occasional novel throw in. At times I read quite a lot and at times I read very little.
TV	I do wath the TV, mainly factual programs, with the occasional film for entertainment. I stear very clear of reality television and soap operas.
Watching sport	I do not have much time for sport but I do watch it occasionally.
Playing sport	I do not partecipate in any sport.
Hobbies	Painting, mainly watercolour, but also acrylic and egg tempera. I used to like country walks but at the moment my health does not allow me even if I do have reasonable long walks.

My hopes and dreams

In ten years I see myself	Alive is a good start.
Who would I invite to a dinner party?	Leonardo da Vinci. My best lady friend (I do have some friends) Jesus (mind you I think of him like a very interesting man and no more)
My ideal date	No idea.
What would I never, ever give up?	Painting it seems to be important to me even if I am not extremely successful at it.
If I had to give a speech on a subject I was passionate about ...	About the very immedient dangers that we as a human race face. I am not passionate about this I am not the crusading type but I do think that we are in for a few shocking years.
If I could visit anywhere in the world at any time in history	Classical Greece, mind you must be lucky not to be a slave Victorian England could be another choice.
If I had a million pounds to give to charity	Do not know.
