The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen as a great performance from Sean Connery and others. Some actors improved a lot with age.

Gosh CM, I am old enough to remember Sean Connery when he was a 'bit' actor at Ealing studios . I went to school near there and he was often in the local cafe. He also acted a lot with Melvin Hayes , in the early days of TV. He was very spotty (pockmarked). He didnt have such a deep voice in those days.

As you say - some actors get better with age, but others just disappear off the face of the earth.

Sophia Loren in this years film The Life Ahead. She's 86 years old. She looks every year of it but brilliant acting. I'm pleased I watched it and nearly didn't because it was sub titled.

I think Michael Palin has aged very well - and of course he is a very nice man.

Love Clint Eastwood. He was a very handsome man as Rowdy Yates in Rawhide but I've liked him in so many films since those days.

A lot of young actors have matured and played more serious roles but others have gone the opposite way and turned to humorous roles.

We should behave better as we grow older and wiser but that does not seem to be the norm.

It seems that I wasn't the only one who misinterpreted the title and thought it was about disgraceful behaviour in the elderly.

Oh Lady Vera, yes Clint was so hunky in Rawhide, I have been watching it on youtube

I think he has 'gone to seed' a bit now though. Still a good actor though. Maggie Smith excels at being 'old' in most films ( e.g. Lady in Van)

Somehow when you get that bit older, you want to do something really daring. I am thinking about it, and wondered if I should drive the tractor round the fields NAKED. Himself said he is up for it, but dont expect him to do it too. Might make a few pennies on You-Tube....... or not !

Minnie made me think about this with her comments xx
