How have we in the UK, and the USA become such cruel, uncaring, violent, unequal, materialist, greedy and unfair?

Andromeda , How doesnt Socialism work. ?
Kimjongun , That's Communism. I wont call you a fool, cause' that would be rude.....

Michael we are very lucky to have someone on this site who. unlike the rest of us politically ignorant morons, has a very real grasp of British politics.
For those fools amongst us would you please explain how socialism has actually worked in any country of a long period of years and has benefited the people of those countries?
Also what is the difference between communism and socialism?

Some people are very caring.....They exude masses of caringness.....from every part of them......to everyone....

They are very rare though.....but they are easy to spot....

Most people are somewhere on the scale......from 0 to maximum....

Just my opinion.....but michaelt rates very very low on the scale.....Again, it is easy to spot......For instance, he appears to have a hatred of anyone who disagrees with him.....Not an uncommon trait, by any means....It is there in many people.....but it certainly appears to be there in him......Just my opinion......

But why he do that?
He posts like a lion, and vanish like a mouse.

Why he do that?

He is very clever man, we are lucky to have him on the site.
He is not biased in any way, he could make good points.
Instead he just outburst?

Not all of us behave in the manner you have written
Some of us still care and give respect to others in the way we would like to be treated Maybe it is due to being born at the end of the war, and growing up with very little..neighbours never had more than the next neighbour
We were taught to respect people and property and to work hard and do our best

Sadly lots of people's attitude to others has changed, the younger generation seem to want rather than need, every thing yesterday.......its like they do not see a tomorrow little idea of money, and where it comes from to buy all these what seems to be necessities

Am not a miserable old grandma I see with my grandchildren aged from 7 to 22 the differences in them how little and how much some of them seem to need in today's society

Much has changed and not all for the better

Mumsie , There have been enough uncaring people out there within our first past the post voting secure to secure this government's in power since 1979. Yes we had a New Labour government under Tony Blair for 13 years, but Blair ditched Labour's core values in favour of continuing the late Margaret Thatcher's free market agenda.

Mumsie , Yes and we did work hard and did our best, but this was at a time in the 60's and 70's when jobs were easy to get and long term, and quite well paid, and house prices were cheap and council houses were available.

No so today, jobs are short term, insecure and low waged and people need benefits to help them financially. We certainly never had food banks when I was working.

Everything has changed, and definately not for the better.

Michaelt. you say uncaring and complain of our countries democratic voting system. You surpringly mention Blair and Thatcher and free market.

Jobs were easy to get because the wages were low and automation hadn't kicked in. Factories needed lots of staff. Many of us, Luddites, didnt like the automation but that is nobodies fault and no-one can stop progress whether good or bad.

Everything has changed but that is hardly surprising when you consider you are talking about 50 years ago. Of course things have changed.

NoSaint, Its not just this country that has changed, its also people. To quote a neighbour of mine who works in the care system for the elderly, "we have become a very uncaring country", and she is right.

NoSaint, I mention Blair and Thatcher and their free market. Because all this change started under Thatcher and continued under Blair.

Their deregulated, race to the bottom free market is what creates unemployment, the lowest bidder gets the job.

The consequences of this ideology has ensured massive homelessness, unemployment, and food banks 50 years on...

NoSaint, Job were easy to get because we were virtually a nationalized nation. And wages were obviously lower than today, but wages were fair. And house prices were cheaper.

If Blair was such a tory why didn't the labour supporters vote him out of office ?

A party leader only does what his / her party want !

Ah yes - but michael cannot answer questions about socialism, communism, etc, etc. He only understands Blair, Thatcher, Corbyn and maybe a litte of Starmer.

He won't answer me as he has blocked me so won't see this offering.
