What is a sneeze? Do you sneeze often? What sets you off?

Sneezing is an involuntary action caused by the ANS (autonomic nervous system) - to eject eg dust/pollen etc from the respiratory tract.

There will be an infinite number of potential sneeze triggers for each individual - and what is a trigger on one occasion may not be a trigger on another occasion if other contributing factors change in severity.

Allergies in general are increasing in modern times - with studies on the incidence/prevalence of asthma showing the increase is just as high in the wilds of Scotland as in London with it's demonstrably poor air quality - so as with all health issues there is also a genetic component.

Household sprays and perfumes, dust and pollen, sometimes I do a quite violent sneeze that makes my whole head vibrate and my ears ring, its more like a nosegasm.

A tickle in the nose. Pepper occasionally. Ok with pollen, massive dust.

Phew ... I have just sneezed .. and sneezed .. and

I very rarely sneeze just once. I usually sneeze between 6 and 10 times before my bodily functions relent and give me solace. It's annoying if you are in company and they want to say "Bless you" after every sneeze!

Being blessed ten times on the trot would annoy me too. LOL.

I had a touch of hay fever sneezing today and I noticed everyone was giving me a wide berth.
