Yes Euro you can still get an old CTR off ebay for a few quid but need a digi box to show a picture.

Have a look at Richer Sounds online - great deals and low prices with 5/6 yr warranties - and a modern set with inbuilt Freeview Play means no need for subscriptions to get full HD/catchup etc.

Pretty stupid, but it does what its told which is what I want from an appliance, I don't want one that believes its smarter than me and I certainly don't want one telling me what I ought to want to want to watch rather than what I do want to watch.

My smart tv's are not as clever as my computer which can emulate everything they do and so much more.

But when your lying in bed who wants to manipulate a ir mouse on stomachs, clicking all the time when you can use a remote control :D

I have a few tvs scattered around the house in fact I gave one away last week as I seem to have amassed a few smaller ones. With the exception of one they are all smart tvs (or fairly smart not brilliant cheaper range) so they can access the internet, Netflix etc and the one that isn't has a plug-in Chromecast thing which makes it smarter.

I have a smart tv. I quite like the 3D, especially with sci-fi films and such, and it seems to have a camera, but I heard strange stories about that so I've turned that off. It does other stuff, but I have a short attention span with manuals, and I've no idea where the manual is now.

Too smart by half. Anything that it can't stream through the TV apps can be streamed via a smart phone with swipe/snap and voice control. I can even use a smart phone as a spare remote if I lose my remote. I can even watch TV Channels on it ;-)

Very Smart.....When I ask it what 2 minus 2 is......it says nothing....

Also....a bit like that dog from Thats Life.....it can say 'Sausages'......but it only seems to do it when there's a food program on....about sausages.....although it is able to say other things specific to the program that is on at the time.....

I don't think my TV is that clever but it obviously thinks different because it turns itself off after a while when it thinks i'm not watching, lol

It's watching you and waiting for you to close your eyes or walk out of the room.

Even I have a smart TV. I quite like it, but I don't watch a lot of TV, so I'm certain that I am using it at a small fraction of its capabilities.

My tv knows I'm a sensitive soul easily upset and embarrassed so it is always telling me my choice of viewing includes violence, scenes of a sexual nature, flashing images and might include things I will find upsetting.

Well, they are welcome to it - it was a black and white one.

Oh and you could not get colour on the screen, too !!!

My TV is not very smart, last night it would not switch on by the remote control, even tried new batteries in it!
In the end I had to get up off the settee and switch it on with the little button on the side! :-(
