The Clock

Seeing as though time and clocks are topical subjects at the moment - here's my offering entitled

The Clock:
I'm just a clock upon the wall
I tell the time for one and all,
I'm never fast, or ever slow,
Unless my batteries run low.

All day I hang here passing time,
Performing an eternal mime,
My movements being slow and dull
In units sexagesimal.

Sometimes I feel I can command
Obedience with just two hands,
To make you scurry to and fro
Dictated by the times I show.

It seems as if the World is ruled
By such as I, plain or bejewelled,
Large or small, or smart or dour,
Oh what it feels to wield such power.

But then I'm just a humble thing,
No gong to chime, no bell to ring;
I have no 'tic', nor have I 'toc'
I'm just a silent wall-hung clock!

If it's a Windows computer then click on START, then CONTROL PANEL, then DATE AND TIME and you should be able to change it there.
