Net curtains!

Does anyone have net curtains? How do you maintain some privacy?
Andromeda  Female  Berkshire 8-Sep-2019 16:07 Message #4751475
There’s not much to beat net curtains for privacy but I haven’t had any for years.
Minnie-the-Minx  Female  Hertfordshire 8-Sep-2019 16:30 Message #4751486
Just paid for new blinds to replace them this morning.

I'm not sure about net curtains, but I've certainly had some gross ones...

If you have nets they must be kept immaculately white and not the horrible murky grey ones you often see.

It’s surprising how many grubby and torn nets you see.
Minnie-the-Minx  Female  Hertfordshire 9-Sep-2019 22:44 Message #4751809
They only get grubby and torn in their haste to see what the neighbours are up to.

none here as no close neighbours and we are short distance from the lane as well.

I have them all around the house for privacy. My neighbours can see my windows at the front and back so it's a necessity.

Definately nets. Have always had them, front and back. In fact have just renewed them at the back (as it's south facing they discolour) and they're so bright & white.
And then curtains too and thermal roller blinds to pull down for for added insulation in the winter.

I have wooden Venetian blinds which are quite versatile as you can deflect the bright sun in or stop it but still see out.

Yes I have nets as I live next to a public footpath. there is a 5ft wall but heads and shoulders go past regularly. As I'm in a ground floor flat, both my lounge and bedroom can be seen. I also have a blind in the bedroom.

Both these rooms face west so don't get sun until the afternoon and can be quite dark so I have jardiniere nets (the ones that go up in the middle) to let in as much light as possible.. (while leaving the sides for me to hide behind when snooping!?)
