Anti-sex toilets.

Necessary or ridiculous ?

The Welsh seaside town of Porthcawl is planning to install anti-sex public toilets that would spray occupants with water and sound an alarm.

Violent movement sensors would automatically open the doors and sound high-pitched alarms, with fine water jets soaking the interior. Weight-sensitive floors would ensure only one user could be in a cubicle at a time, to safeguard against “inappropriate sexual activity and vandalism”.

Weight sensitive floors? Who’s weight are they using as a guideline?

I could see that being very unfortunate.

I can see them being sued for damages. What if somebody with epilepsy had a generalised seizure in them? :-/

I can imagine sitting with my pants around my ankles when the doors fly open and I’m sprayed with water jets .. and just in case any passing members of the public don’t notice there will be high pitched alarms to attract their attention.
I’m not a litigious type but I think I would be demanding compensation.

They had them in a Town near hear 10 - 15 years or so ago, think the water spray feature was between users,

They were removed a few years ago

I’m glad to see any improvements. It’s bad enough having to use public toilets but when they are the old seedy types situated in parks I would have to be desperate.

I’m already nervous of toilets with automatic doors and those with doors which open on buses and trains.

I wouldn't use them, who decides whats to much weight? What if its a parent and child in there? What if its a disabled person and their carer?

Apparently those designs were submitted by mistake and they're building normal toilets.

They are probably those modern self-cleaning ones .......but would you take the chance?
