I have written a letter to Tony Blair. Does anybody on this site know his postal address please ?

I am asking him questions the media to my knowledge have never asked.

Tony Blair ditched Labour's core values from 1997 for 13 years in favour of embracing what had just been thrown out after 18 years of right wing Tory rule.

My letter asks Tony Blair why he did what he did ?, and the fact that he widened Thatcher's rich and poor divide in the process.

Can anybody furnish me with his postal address please ?

Can't you send it to Corbyn, I'm sure he will pass it on?....

The way i see it, the only way that 'Labour' were going to get in was with a different approach....

That had tried different ways....Kinnock failed...Smith died...They had to try something else....

They stuck Blair up front, as a sort of 'poster boy', and others working things from behind...

I can't remember totally though, whether everyone knew what they were voting for in 97...The main thing seemed to be 'get the Tories out'....by any means...The country felt it needed a change....I remember the papers had 'tactical voting' pullouts...If you want the Tories out, here's what you do etc...

An 'Old' Labour was never going to get enough votes though...a bit like now....So the only way 'Labour' of any sort was going to get in was by being 'less labour'..Labour Lite...

Alastair Campbell was a big part.....I'm not sure where he lives though...it seems he's moved house recently...

tumbleweed , With respect I only asked if anybody knew Blair's postal address ?

As for the rest of your comment, people thought they were getting traditional Labour under Tony Blair, but when Blair took Labour to the right embracing Thatcher's free market agenda, ie that had just been thrown out, Blair lost Labour's core voters and in turn this is why Gordon Brown also lost the 2010 General election and the coalition was formed.

Then the answer is that I don't know where Blair lives....

You could try at the Free market down the road....Thatchers, I think it's called...They might know...

Michael. You say people thought they were getting traditional Labour under Tony Blair,

I don't think you could be more wrong. People remembered the abysmal times of the 70s and would never have voted for it again. Labour voters saw Blair as a breath of fresh air. As it happens it didnt work out so good but that is politics and sometimes what is happening around you dictates how you lead your party.

Pull the other one. If you really want to communicate with him then try The Tony Blair Institute for Global Change. Details on the internet.

Blair lost Labour's core voters and in turn this is why Gordon Brown also lost the 2010 General election

In my opinion Labour lost the 2010 election mainly because of the 2008 financial crash, there were problems with the economy prior to that but the 2008 crash overwhelmed everything. Gordon Brown actually did a huge amount to save the UK and world economy by his actions on the 'casino' banks. He had to borrow a lot of money and his critics never forgave him but he saved the UK big time. History will look more favourably on him in the future I am sure.

Templar2013 , I couldnt be more "right". Yes voters saw Blair as a breath of fresh air, but voters were conned, because Blair proceeded to continue what had just been thrown out.

I am still hoping someone will provide me with Blair's postal address.

Templar2013, You are wrong on all points. This will give your little fingers something to chew on and tap away at. . The Winter of discontent was nothing compared to today's carnage. Foodbanks, malnutrition, starvation, deaths.

Sorry SQL I see you already posted the same thing. Actually the Institute for Global Change has some very interesting information. Completely contrary to what many want I can see Blair back in politics although he's never really left.

I don't see why? I don't think he will be any more likely/unlikely to read it and looking at your question I wouldn't expect a reply.

He used to live in a posh street, where they have doorknobs in the middle of their doors...but I think he got moved on from there....

As he was moving out though, i thought I heard someone mention that he might be moving to a Post Office....I thought I heard them say 'P Off'

I'm afraid that sounds like a bit of a wasted letter.

I would want to ask if he would have made the same decisions about going to war and what he thought would have been the consequences of us not doing so. Did he make the right decision for the right reason?

What is wrong with today's polical scene as it's in the worst disarray for a very long time?

What are his thoughts on Brexit and if we make the wrong decision how can we ensure damage limitation?

Does he want to come back into mainstream politics and what would he want to do if he was Labour party leader again?

I could probably think of many more. Whatever we think of him he has a sharp mind and is a good speaker and I know I would like to hear him speak at a private function and answer questions.
