Recording my own cd

What equipment do I need and how do I do it?

Happy bank holiday Mon everyone!
I would like to record my own cd which will include background music with my voiceover.

What equipment would I need and would it be easy to do? It doesn’t have to be top quality as it will be for my own use only.

I’m not a very techy person, so keeping it as simple as possible would be great, thanks.

Assuming you will use your computer, you need a decent microphone, CD burner, blank writable CD and some recording software.
I can recommend Audacity which is free recording software that enables you to record and edit etc.
Adding background music is more difficult, I must admit that is something I have never done.
Of course you can avoid the CD bit by saving it as an MP3 or something similar...
