Yes ... watcher here.

I even have to watch Call the Midwife on catch up so I can see it.
wonderoushen  Female  Gwynedd 21-Feb-2019 11:14 Message #4735703
I'm not a huge fan of Vera, but I will watch it. I'm going off Call the Midwife, the last couple of series seem to have lost the whatever it was that made the earlier series so good. I was disapointed to have missed Shetland, I meant to put it on to record, but missed it, why do they have to put it on so late?

HonestBob  Male  the Central region 21-Feb-2019 13:01 Message #4735714
No, I'm afraid not. Saw an advert for it and it looked terrible, not my type of show.

Think she was driving a nice looking defender in it though! 10 points! :)
Victoriana11  Female  Buckinghamshire 21-Feb-2019 13:02 Message #4735716
Nope, I find her irritating and a bit soppy.
Blue-Poppy  Female  East Yorkshire 21-Feb-2019 13:26 Message #4735722
If you 've read the books maybe like me you thought Brenda Blethyn wasn't right for Vera but to be honest she's growing on me, so yes I watch - when I remember.
AndyMacG  Male  the West Midlands 21-Feb-2019 17:11 Message #4735736
Oh yeah, i love watching it, Watched everyone from the beginning, there is actually some good humour in it at times and Brenda Blethyn plays the part great :)

I haven't watched the new Shetland yet either Wonderoushen so i'm waiting for it to end now then i'll watch them all in one hit on the i-player :)

Enjoyed Shetland too when I had a TV licence but no longer able to watch it.
Judance  Female  Berkshire 22-Feb-2019 10:33 Message #4735794
I've not seen this series of Shetland so far as I was away when it started.

I do have a certain fascination for the programme watching it just in case I see the guy smiling … ??!
Mumsie  Female  Warwickshire 22-Feb-2019 13:25 Message #4735816
Vera excellent , Brenda Blethyn , well cast for the part , and all that lovely scenery we get a glimpse of ..Bit biased as come from around the area
trilby  Female  North London 28-Feb-2019 20:26 Message #4736331
Yes, yes, yes - I absolutely love it. I too am a woman of a certain age, although I'd like to think I'm not as grumpy as Vera and have more consideration for people's feelings. The way she speaks to her staff is awful, but that's all part of her character.

A bonus is the fantastic scenery - it's like another character in the stories. And what about those two gorgeous young men she gets to boss around - it's so unfair!
