dont try so hard to find the perfect partner, just be with someone who knows how lucky they are when they are with you, :)

what you say ?
BunnyGirl  Female  Buckinghamshire 3-Feb-2017 13:45 Message #4675978
To be with someone just because they know they are lucky to be with me is a no no.

Yea i do think that whoever is with me is lucky and would not work just for that reason. I would want to feel something
for the person i am with not because 'HE' thinks so.

or you could be like me and not try at all. I'm virtually a recluse, apart from work.

for the uninformed

Bloody men are like bloody busses
You wait for about a year
And as soon as one approaches your stop
Two or three others appear.

You look at them flashing their indicators
offering you a ride
you are trying to read their destinations
you haven`t got time to decide.

If you make a mistake, there is no turning back
Jump off, and you will stand there and gaze
While the cars and the taxis and lorries go by
And the minutes, the hours, the days.

Tanks to Wendy Cope for wise lesson

I used to be told that the reason that I couldn't find a girlfriend was that I was trying too hard. But even when I didn't try, no girlfriend came. (By chance I have one now.)

In an unrealistic situation where you know the number of people whom logically you will consider to become your "best" partner, what is the mathematically optimal stage that you should stop looking for a "better" person? (Similarly various other applications such as choosing the best secretary (look up "secretary problem"), or which daughter of a sultan has the biggest dowry, or the best pet, or the best bus driver if many buses go along a route together and you can often change buses during the journey.) This applies however you want to define "best".

The answer is in thread "How To Marry The Right Girl A Mathematical Solution"
