The thought of marrying anyone, of the strange variety or otherwise, makes me shudder.

Blimey, it's a big enough risk marrying someone you've known for a long time, let alone tying the knot with a complete stranger, selected by people who don't know either of you!

My days of wearing sticky-out frocks are over and I've had my fill of wedding cake!

"Could you marry a stranger who was picked for you?"

Not even for serious money!

Call me old fashioned if you like but I thought marriage was something to be taken seriously not used to make a cheap television programme dumbing the whole thing down.
What with naked dating etc they really are scraping the bottom of the barrel.

I'm with Barney. Makes a mockery of marriage IMO

along with most other things i have never taken marriage seriously, :)

Personally I find those TV programs a complete and utter farce but its quite possible to meet someone completely out of the blue on real life and fall instantly in love ... I take marriage very seriously and believe in love at first sight, I remember meeting my ex on a blind date and six months later we were married, we stayed together for 30 years and have five wonderful children and now have 5 beautiful grandchildren and if i had my time over again i couldn't imagine passing up that life changing chance meeting :)

Years ago there were a lot of arranged marriages ... In the Jewish religion there were matchmakers and even now in the Asian community a lot of marriages are arranged ... Im not sure how successful these marriages were though ...
