My door bell is buggered, so a big knocker would be a good thing, atm.

I had a big knocker on my door once ...

I ignored him - and he went away!

There will be loads of little knockers tomorrow night, when all the trick or treaters come around.

The ones which came with our front doors (council) might as well be made of cotton wool for all the use they are. Tiny, tinny little things. the knock noise hardly penetrates the thickness of the door let alone through to our livingrooms which are at the back of the house.

Low tech, big knockers, are definitely best. Doorbells need batteries.

I prefer a big heavy metal knocker, I hate having to rattle letter boxes and I almost never know if a doorbells working or not.

Damnmit!! i thought the room title referred to the pendulous breasts of members of the opposite sex.

Next door has a fabulous old manual bell handle that you tug on to summon them to the door of thier cottage .. beats a knocker or electric bell hands down.

I don't need either - I have a very efficient dog, sometimes referred to as "The doorbell".
