...and no cme's dont affect the weather as such as its not heat but energised particles which are funneled to the poles via earths magnetic field, it can affect satellites and sensitive electronic equipment if its intense enough though.

Well its hyped activity now could throw us all back into the 16 th Century[ quite suddenly[ its been stated ] if it blows out the national or international grid [ for electric ].. were all doomed ..unless you can live Off Grid some way...

Why the 16th century? If it chucked us back 50 years we'd be well and truly b*ggered! lol

Bit more activity in the Sun again ... with .CME `s again

Maybe we will have a very hot and dry Summer all this Sun Activity.. with starting point off an Early Spring ...although current Weather Predictions are for a Cold spell over the next few days

I think we need it to kill off some bugs... lol

The Sun is affecting the entire solar system, not just Earth. Either that or those Martians should really cut down on their Co2 emissions.

Yes Oldskoolian .. ive been learning just how that Suns heat hits Mars .. when flares are in Mars Direction ,,,

Yes and like you have said the whole Solar System is heating up...i wonder what the long term affect of

that may be ??

Patrick Moore will be in the know wont he ?

I think it's just a natural cycle for the Sun to do this and is the real culprit of global warming

scooble  Female  3-Mar-2012 09:03 Reply »
studies have shown that there is a significant correlation between previous solar activity and climate change. Over thousands of years, it has been shown that there have been peaks and troughs but the overall average change has been gradual.

It is interesting to note, that the one report that attributed global warming to mans atmospheric emissions made a point of NOT including any findings or contributions from scientists that have shown that there is a strong connection between solar activity and climate change.

...don't let the facts interfere with a good story eh?

Another flare heading our way C Class ..

The Suns increased activity ... is this whats affecting the really bad weather USA have had with hurricanes ripping through villages like Chelsea overnight . and giant size golf ball type hailstones pelting down, with streets like fast flowing rivers , only it makes you wonder ?

At least the bad weather in the USA and the lovely weather in Britain is nothing to do with the Earth's tilt thank goodness.

GoldHorizon575  Female  3-Mar-2012 12:49 Reply »
My mirror though was tilted this morning .. was that due the earths crust moving ..

I believe were in for some bad sub zero temps very soon.. so dont put yer winter woollies away just yet

Celt  Male  3-Mar-2012 12:52 Reply »
So the sun is heating up the world and the universe, but we are going to have sub-zero temperatures? Blinking heck this natural global warming is confusing.

Yep I agree Celt .. those Giant Sized Golf Ball Hails Stones look well frozen too in USA

Might it be something to do with weather Spam?

We get rain, sun, hail, snow, sleet and fog here, and the scientists reckon it's to do with weather. I never hear the forecaster on BBC Wales saying ' There's going to be a mass coronal ejection today, so be sure to take an umbrella with you". Do you think the BBC, Nasa and the British Antarctic Survey are conspiring?
