with a bottle of red and a DVD?
Apparently its boring and we should be outside racing fast cars, doing salsa classes, extreme sports and all the usual stuff because life is too short!

..if ur a couple then its a lovely way 2 spend an evening I agree..but not as a singleton!!..:)
I think that it might be a euphemsim for something
What about doing this with friends?
..Of course hv had dvd nites with mates..but now so many are single parents..childcare is always an issue!!
lmao Pinkella :))
I love watching dvd's and what could be nicer than you other half cuddled up with you and sipping on the wine and... :)) I think it would be lovely - a definate to do on my bucket list lol, but perhaps it is being knocked because every second person puts in on their profile? xx
Try not to be so negative about the situation and think of ways you can do it more often.
I use to see this on people profiles all the time complaining about the red wine and dvd brigade! lol
am trying to think of ways to do it more often but I think there might be names for girls like that lol xx :)) he eh

Having had many years between 'relationships' where I was a Singleton, and spent most nights out, and EVERY week-end partying, I now find it very pleasant having a night in with a good bottle of wine, intelligent company and a romantic/sexy film. Altho he would prefer match of the day I think... lol. Its nice just being able to relax together
Hmmm so cos I'm a singleton I'm not allowed to drink a bottle of red whilst watching a DVD ... it is ok to do one or the other but not just both at the same time?? Please help me as I won't know what to do tomorrow night otherwise!
cant be doing with people who have that on their profile.
personally i would rather have a meaningful conversation for 5mins [foreplay] then rip the clothes off and have rampant sex on the dining room table, kitchen worktops, stairs and so to bed ! lol!
I agree that due to it being on a lot of profile, it can appear commonplace.
That said, how many of us do exactly that when we are in a relationship? Most of us I think you will agree. We don't go out every night.

Prefer white wine ...
And what name would that be H2B ?

Sorry about the 'singleton' comment, Pinks, I guess I was selfishly referring to my own present situation. I suppose that when I was on my own, I had the constant need to be out & about with people, rather than stay in ( DVD , wine or not) . I spent so many years of marriage being home alone ( he was always out!) , that when he died, I just had to be out of the house, it was a hard habit to break.

Got to be honest I hate staring at 4 walls but then sometimes I just don't feel like going out anywhere.
I spend a lot of my time at home now sleeping...
So basically you guys are saying you would never watch a film at home with your partner or your friends! lol
Pinks I have done that and it's quite good fun I don't mind that at all. However for football matches it has to be the pub!
Football matches would be watched at the pub your right TC! lol
I would Pinkellla! Love films, love wine and cosying up!
But I wouldn't put it on my profile cos it's surely a generic 'like'...bit like going out for meals, nice walks, etc It's like stating the bloomin' obvious! Who doesn't like doing most of these things?
Bit like the ubiquitous 'like nights in and nights out'...well...that covers everything then!!
It doesn't tell you anything about the person as an individual really as all these things are rather nice, pleasant things to do that lots of us do.
lol Pinks.
only if its pouring with rain or you are snowed in .(..with someone of course...)
Dont know about extreme sport... lol...
but getitng out, dancing, socialising , whatever is better than an DVD eeekkk
you realise this if you have been ill, or had an accident...
how great it is to get out...!!
You are a long time old, ( if lucky) and you dont know whats round the corner so YES get out and make the most of it...

it just depends. there is nothing at all wrong with red wine and a dvd. or out for a meal and a walk along the beach or sitting in a beach hut and looking at the storm hammering down with a bag of chips.
Its the company and conversation, the where or the weather really dont matter. In front of the fire in a cosy pub can be good too.
and if you are a singleton some folk cant be on their own. so they have to go out. others enjoy time on their own reading or watching TV. its horses for courses and no right way
quite often I will watch a film and have my laptop on mse. so its a bit of both if on my own. I tend not to go down the pub on my own as one evening out is easily Tia's food cost for the week.

I love staying in with a bottle of wine and a DVD, whether alone, with friends or someone special. It might be a cliché, but it's enjoyable. :)x
