The cold and broken windows

I read a message late last night from MadMax but lost my connection before I could reply.

This is to let anyone know that has Velux windows which are, I think, under 38cms wide and fitted in the 8 years up to 2003, there is a possibility that the interior glass can suddenly break. I have 2 of my 4 go in the last 3 weeks and having new ones fitted today for free.

You can check the window number - its at the top of the window between the panes of glass and you have to be a bit of a contortionist to see it. Make a note and go to the Velux site and there is a note about the problem there. Click on where it says and you can input the number and it will tell you if it is from the faulty batch.

I arranged the new ones direct with them and got a local fitter to come and fit them. Most double glazing companies should know about the problem so should be able to order and fit them together and bill Velux direct. You should not have to pay a penny to get this done so if anyone wants to charge you walk away.

Hope this is of interest to some.
