Set off about an hour a go for work but little did i realise that it had been snowing, my own fault i was not paying to tonights forecast on the early evening news.

Not a great amount but i struggled to get the motor off the drive then slid/skidded sideways for about a mile before giving up and returning home.I live in the country and accept that not all roads can be gritted but this is a fairly busy B road and was griited in the last fall of snow last week.

Hence i am on here tonight hope there are few interesting conversations on the board because i am wide awake and bored stiff...

Snowing nicely up here in the Chilterns too , I have just 'slithered' up and down the hills to the village. It looks like its set in for the night too. Temp is -3 on the car thermometer.

Around 3 inches here, but there has been a severe weather warning from the met office since this morning, as well as heavy snow for most of the midlands and north, there will be rain turning to black ice too, so it could well be treacherous until at least sunday when it will get milder.

It`s just starting to snow here, we`re forecast 4 inches again. I`ve been keeping my eye on the forecast all day as I was working 60 miles away in Ashfield, was freezing rain on the way back tonight. I`m back there tomorrow, so it might be " interesting " on the way there in the morning :-/

It always seem to be worse up here in the Chilterns Palo, it should be warmer over your way as you are a bit lower down I think. Its freezing very hard here too. It will be a nightmare tomorrow.

I have been driving a 4WD all day which is excellent in bad conditions. the main problem is with people abandoning their cars all over the place.

I'm wondering how I'll get over to Liverpool tomorrow to see the Sapphire Nurse. I can see having to get my ski's out...

...or more likely a cancellation :-/

I've just had a bit of a scary drive home.
Freezing fog, snow, and very slippy roads.
Blinded by oncoming headlights, driving through narrow and twisting country lanes.

I wanna move to a town :(

Fag and a brew now, to calm me nerves.

snow liberates me! i can look as bonkers as I like, silly hat, wellies odd gloves and a coat i would not normally be seen dead in, and as i don't want to drive, I walk or get the bus..yeah last year was oppresive but if I don't have to be anywhere I love it wooo hooo !

I don't have a choice but to drive.

If I waited for a bus in this backwater, I'd still be here three weeks on Tuesday.

Bloody hate snow.
And cold.
And fog.
And loads of other stuff I can't be bothered to type.

Pah!
