would you have a cleaner for your home?

If you can afford one, do you have a cleaner ?

If I lived in a house I would have a cleaner in once every 2 weeks for about 6 hours. To do the stuff that gets over looked in my opinion!

Nah, I like dirt.
I like it when sodding great dust balls chase me along the laminate floor, s'a bit like having a pet that gets bigger with age without ever me having to feed it.

:O)

I would love to have a cleaner but doubt if I will ever have one Pinks.
I really dislike cleaning.
I did the bedroom floor the other morning whilst drying my hair, I fired the hairdryer
under the bed to blow all the fluff out at the other side (it's laminate flooring) and
went round and picked it up, sorted lol. I'll get round to dusting in the next few days, maybe lol.

p.s. 2 fave fridge magnets read...You can touch the dust but please don't write in it and the
other one says Dull Women have immaculate homes lol

I can ,but I wouldnt.

Its my home, and my space, and it gets done to a standard I am ok with and when it suits me. I suppose that being a pensioner gives me the time to do it, thats the big difference, the cleaning required provides the motivation for the exercise needed. I can decide whether to be proud of it, happy with it, or ohh bugga it.

The latter, I'm happy to say :O)
Still have our own places though.

To be honest, I think a laminate floor where the dust forms into balls and hides in the places of least turbulence, just has to be cleaner than carpets.

But it's just a thought - seem to be getting a lot of them lately. Had one the other day too.

FF when you think do you have to sit down like me? :)

Yes Laminate flooring is far more hygenic and easier to clean without a doubt, cant see me ever going back to carpet.

I clean my own house and don't mind, in fact its great when I start at the top and work my way down. I even have a vacuum upstairs and one downstairs to make life easier.

The secret is minimalism, my middle room has all the little nik naks and the front room has all the big nak niks ... simples

I love clean beds and clean kitchens so I am the Cleaner, even if I won the lottery

Mike ... oooh! look at the dust on this thread

No, I'm too fussy and prefer to do my own cleaning. I'm even going around filling, sanding and touching up after the decorator who did a very high standard decorating job for me last week. I'm a perfectionist who prefers to do everything myself, but arthritis prevents big decorating jobs these days. However, I'll always do my own cleaning, besides I'd worry a cleaner might snoop.

And I'd only clean before the cleaner came in anyway, which kinda defeats the object.

send ironing basket to Pete

Great tip about the hair drier Woo... I have laminate too :)xx

Just what I have been thinking about as Mum has broken her hip and when she comes home, I will be busy looking after her and the kids and working...so my dad has a lady who comes to clean his place and help him sometimes with shopping so I will be asking her to help out here too...have had a cleaner before when my second child was born, she was great...

You bet!

But I'm too embarrassed by the mess to let even a cleaner in my house, atm.

If I didn't live in a smokeless zone, I would have a large bonfire.

Jools - I'm a lot slower these days too. It takes me half the day to do what it used to take me an hour to do before the arthritis struck 10 years ago. I hoover one room, sit down for 15 minutes, hoover the stairs, sit down for 15 minutes, mop the floor, sit down, wash up, sit down, clean the bathroom, lie on the bed. But it gets done and it gets done to my satisfaction.

Don't mention the garden, I worked so hard on it last Spring, and it all needs doing again. The fences I painted have rotted and fallen to bits, the patio needs power washing, next doors 4 cats have used the garden as a giant litter tray all winter. I'm dreading it. :(

Doing the ironing isn't a problem at all and I like nothing better than to get into a nice clean bed with ironed cotton sheets.

As for cleaning up for the cleaner coming lol, Mel, you aint right in your head my love lol.
