Do you believe...

that some people are sent into your life for a reason?

I believe that fate or destiny sends people into your life at the right moment, to give something back that is missing or that you haven't had before.

Once they are in your life, the decision on whether they stay is up to you and/or that person.

Yes. I have known a few people for a while, who seemed to need something I could help with, and a couple who helped me very much and then seemed to move on, out of my life.

Hi Yaz xx

I can best answer that by using someone else's words: (you may have heard/seen it already)

Reason, Season, or Lifetime

People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime.
When you figure out which one it is,
you will know what to do for each person.

When someone is in your life for a REASON,
it is usually to meet a need you have expressed.
They have come to assist you through a difficulty;
to provide you with guidance and support;
to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually.
They may seem like a godsend, and they are.
They are there for the reason you need them to be.

Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time,
this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end.
Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away.
Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand.
What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled; their work is done.
The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.

Some people come into your life for a SEASON,
because your turn has come to share, grow or learn.
They bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh.
They may teach you something you have never done.
They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy.
Believe it. It is real. But only for a season.

LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons;
things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation.
Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person,
and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life.
It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.

I dont believe they are 'sent' as such, but I do think people are in our lives to learn from in one way or another.

Happy2be - I was off searching for just that poem whilst you were busy posting it!

I don't know whether or not there is anything more than chance to anything in life - but I am thankful that life has eventually brought me someone with whom to share love.

As for people moving on from our lives - I think that there are times and circumstances which make that imperative.

Oscar Wilde observed -

Some people bring pleasure wherever they go - others whenever they go!

You are very welcome, Yazrose.

One of my favourites of his is:

"We are all in the gutter - but some of us are looking at the stars".

" to give something back that is missing or that you haven't had before. "

Or for a long-time? Like a sympathy shag... On a serious note, I a firm believer that in life you 'make' your own luck, that shapes your life or who's in it at any 'given' time.

Think negative, negative things happen, think positive and positive things happen, the control panel is upstairs in yer head.

Very troo stoo, and also negative vibes are simply mood hoovers and with so much in life already to contend with, a negative person will probably find they are shunned a bit - adding to their belief in this negative world... Smile and all the rest... xx

I'm a firm believer that anyone who reckons that you can 'make' your own luck must have been very lucky in the first place. When real ill health strikes you there is absolutely nothing you can do about it believe me!

Yes I do believe people come into our lives for a reason. We get what we need, what we can cope with, and give what we can to others when they are in need.

I also believe we ask in one way or another for certain people to come into our lives just at the right moment.

I have asked twice for someone and both times they came and have remained very close friends. One fell in love with me, and I didn't return his feelings, the other I fell in love with but he didn't return my feelings. But maybe neither of them were meant to be in my life in the capacity of a lover. But my life, and I like to think their lives have been enriched anyway.

Hopefully one day the universe will send me someone to love who can return that love ;)x
