Does anyone ever think what they write in this box is exactly right?? My brother reckons the best thing about me is that I don't try to be anything or anyone else. I like to work hard on stuff and like to please other people. Been through the usual 4 years university, yeah yeah great time blah-de-blah and it's true and had a lot of fun working and travelling in my 20s.
I am a bit of a traditionalist in some respects - friends & family are pretty important to me, good manners cost nothing, not into sega or wii etc - I can't understand pals of mine who think it is a worthwhile use of precious free time to sit and pretend to be someone on a screen and really at the end of the day have achieved nothing physical (except possibly DVT from sitting on their backside!). Music tastes are pretty wide ranging - everything from good ol' scottish folk through to Daft Punk and the like - excepting total garbage like Britney, 50 cent, x-factor...
Sense of humour wise being able to laugh or see the funny side of things is very important. And I have had to see the funny side of my fair share of things! You can't laugh at others really until you can laugh at yourself, I suppose that's a bit of a philosophy for me. Some of the best memories are those ones where you find yourself giggling uncontrollably on the bus or train at the thought of them.
I'm a real believer in making the most out of life; winter sees me hoping for snow and snowboarding, summer is mountain biking and camping (not done much of that for a while though). Hiking any time of year. Want to get into kayaking/surfing some more, and it would be great to learn to sail. But you get the picture I reckon. I like a good night out now and again, Edinburgh is probably my favourite city for that (you just can't beat the labyrinthine passages and gems of pubs hidden away in those nooks and crannys) but really I'm a country boy through-and-through and in need of proximity to the sea.
Think that'll probably do.
It would be a pleasure to get to know a girl who wants to get to know me.
I find confidence attractive in a girl, and being independent to a degree is also attractive - but being close with friends and family is also attractive (I do think family is important). Sense of humour? Obviously! Occasionally willing to put up with filthy humour? Even better! Don't mind the odd profanity? Well that would be good!
It would be great to meet a girl who had a sense of adventure, and who was determined with things - with a sense of ambition that is. Someone who is open to discussion on issues, someone who doesn't mind pointing out where I am wrong but equally doesn't mind being pointed out if they are wrong. A stylish girl always turns my head too (but ain't you all stylish...?!!!)
I guess I'd better mention 'high maintenance' - had a few relationships ending because of this. I don't mind giving a girl time, and listening to them, and being thoughtful and generous with them - but I guess previous experience has shown that I'm not really compatible with girls who need me to devote 100% of my time to them...
