writeone (58) from Wiltshire

I'm a writer in Chicago with an unrelenting passion is international travel. I had to choose a UK area, so I've selected Wiltshire, where my best friends live. Some of my other likes (in no particular order) -- the smell of a turf fire after the rain, missing characters from a book that I've finished reading, nostalgia, lingering kisses, Irish music, seductive eyes, Soufflenheim pottery, soccer, driving a stick-shift car, low humidity, life-long friends, eggplant, solving mysteries, ethnic festivals, broad shoulders and day-old beards, good manners and good grammar, Barack Obama, possibility. What puts me off -- bigotry, lack of ambition, smoking, polyester, high fructose corn syrup, country music, lots of tattoos, insensitivity, pretense.

Now that my two sons are grown, I feel that I can put the focus back on myself to a greater sense. That's really invigorating!

I'd like to find an intriguing, charismatic guy who can take Mark Twain's words to heart: "Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." Life is all about discovery, and I think the people we meet -- and those who mean something to us -- are here for a reason.
