My hobbies and interests

Cooking	I quite enjoy cooking, so long as there's someone around that I haven't already poisoned. My speciality is cake, or maybe I can rustle up some pasta or curry if you haven't got a sweet tooth.
Shopping	I love shopping, but it's not my only pastime. I tend to go shopping when it's raining, or I'm just a bit bored. I'd normally rather be doing something more interesting.
DIY	DIY ?? I'll get someone in to do it. After all, I want the job done properly ;-)
Housework	Life is too short to do housework, unless there's an impending health hazard.
Dining out	I enjoy eating out. My favourites are Indian and Italian.
Movies	Not a film person. I forget the beginning, middle and the end. Think my mind just wanders.
Theatre	Theatre's not my scene either, unless it's something involving audience participation, such as the Rocky Horror Show.
Music	I love all the old 80's stuff (my era), mainly electronic music. Also try to keep up to the modern chart stuff, but not all of it's to my taste.
Gigs	Like gigs, but very selective.
Pubs	Enjoy the odd glass of red wine. Do they still do Babycham ? ;-)
Clubbing	My clubbing days passed me by.
Newspapers and magazines	Tend to read newspapers online these days. Hop around between various ones, trying to avoid all the trashy celebrity gossip.
Books	Don't read as much as I used to, but have recently re-joined the local library, so there's hope ! Mainly like reading biographies and travel writing.
TV	Dare I say it - soaps are the only thing that can keep my goldfish-like attention span. I don't watch ALL the soaps though. If I'm having a good day, I can watch documentaries - I like Ray Mears.
Watching sport	Hmmm....been to one football match in my life. It wasn't actually as bad as I thought, but that was 10 years ago, so I didn't quite get the bug.
Playing sport	I like to do the odd 10K run, or fell run, but mainly just for fun, as I don't have that killer competitive instinct.
Hobbies	Motorbiking - love riding pillion ! I like jumbo jets - how DO they get them in the air ?

My hopes and dreams

In ten years I see myself	In a stable relationship with someone I love, and in a job that doesn't feel like a job. Working on this !
Who would I invite to a dinner party?	Chris Lowe (Pet Shop Boys keyboard player). I would try to encourage him to stop being "the one that doesn't speak". Stephen Fry. I just think he would be fascinating company. And he wouldn't make things up if he didn't know the answers to my questions, because he WOULD know the answers. Dusty Springfield - she could sing for us. What a fantastic voice.
My ideal date	A walk by the river, followed by coffee and a bun in a cafe with a view.
What would I never, ever give up?	Hope. Because if I didn't have hope, I'd despair ;-)
If I had to give a speech on a subject I was passionate about ...	The profits that drug companies make, and the ridiculous amounts they charge the NHS for them, meaning people can't have access to them.
If I could visit anywhere in the world at any time in history	I'd just like to be around England in the 1960s, to see if it was really all black and white, like in the old photos.
If I had a million pounds to give to charity	Medical research.
