Happy, content with my life, not in any rush to change anything. I have 3 daughters and 4 grandchildren, who are all wonderful, in small doses!

I have a few jobs - I find the variety works for me - they all have connections so it is not random, but is easier to explain in person!

I have only lived in Bournemouth for a year, prior to this I lived in Surrey for 30 years and Devon for 8, although I was born in Manchester.

I love to travel, I love meeting new people and then getting to know people well! I don't have a TV so I can't talk soaps, but if there is something interesting on iPlayer I do make time to watch it. I listen Radio 4 and Radio 2 and lots of CDs - not really into cinema and films much, but I like live theatre. I do like getting out to live music events.

Open minded, if I meet someone and it works out - great, but as I said above - I am content with my life!

My hobbies and interests

Cooking	I love to cook and have someone cook for me! I tend to be very creative in the kitchen - unlikely i could create exactly the same meal twice - and I have never managed to adjust the portion control since the children left home!
Shopping	Shopping - sorry I may be a woman but I do not get much pleasure from shopping - take a list grab what you want and get out as quickly as you can would be my way!
DIY	Pretty good - or at least I used to be - haven't done much DiY for a while but you don't forget these things! And there are so many short cuts and tips you can learn if you are prepared to ask and listen, and talk to the right people.
Housework	Housework - hmm - well again even though i am a woman - i am not going to spend every day cleaning something that is already clean. I would be better having a cleaner in so that I can be free to be creative and think !
Dining out	I like to eat out occasionally - but of late have been quite disappointed with the lack of care taken over cooking - maybe I have just got used to my own cooking. I am experimenting with all types of fish at the moment and really looking at trying out some of the specialist fish restaurants.
Movies	Not keen on the movies - I don't find it easy to sit still doing just one thing - I do not have a TV or a DVD player. If I had to choose a film i really liked - probably Groundhog Day - there is a lesson to be learned.
Theatre	Now theatre is a different matter - it is live and anything can happen and sometimes does! I am a bit spoilt having lived near to London's West End - but I also enjoy am dram. And cannot select anything in particular - love everything from Shakespeare to Rocky Horror Show.
Music	Now I love muisic - all music - good music is good - bad music should not happen - I can appreciate all good music from classical to heavy rock - from Blues to folk and jazz. I listen to the radio a lot and have a wide range of CDs - music is on all the time for me.
Gigs	I love going to gigs but being new to the area - i haven't yet found out where the best music is - or someone to go with!
Pubs	I love a good local pub. One with control over the customers - with clean and comfortable surroundings, friendly bar staff and above all a really good choice of real ales and good wines. Preferably also with a good menu..
Clubbing	Clubbing days are behind me I'm afraid - I am still happy to listen to live bands in pubs but not into the heavy clubs scene - if ever I was!
Newspapers and magazines	Read a broadsheet once a week - but keep up with the news online as well.
Books	Lots of books around me - fiction and non-fiction - currently re-reading "Driving over lemons" Laugh out loud stuff!
TV	I do not have a TV but I do occasionally download programmes to the laptop - but I am very selective.
Watching sport	If I have time - I am happy to watch rugby, football, Formula 1, but I really struggle with tennis or the olymics where we expect so much from our athletes and are often disappointed. I watched the humiliation of the England Germany World Cup game with 2 German colleagues - not great!!
Playing sport	Not really.
Hobbies	Wine appreciation, Beer tasting, art and ceramics (painting and appreciation). i love gazing at the night sky and wondering what it all means? I love to get out in the fresh air - beach, countryside, moors, just so long as there is a good pub at the end of it! I have always had a wide circle of friends and used to socialise quite a bit - but since my recent move to Bournemouth and being so occupied with the job, I have not yet found that new circle of friends. But it is something we have to work at - it doesn't just happen.

My hopes and dreams

In ten years I see myself	Very much the same as I am now in terms of work - but there are a few things I would have liked to have done during that time.
Who would I invite to a dinner party?	Michael Palin - interesting man - first career in comedy and then the second in the travelling - loved the 80 days - would like to try something like that. OZ Bus is probably the nearest I will get. Charles Darwin - A fantastic mind and so widely travelled for his day. Duncan Ballantyne - the entrepreneur you just know gets his hands dirty - could listen to him talk all evening.
My ideal date	This is such a difficult one - it depends on the 2 people - the time of year, the area they are meeting and a host of other things. It needs to be a meeting of minds, stimulating conversation, in quiet calm surroundings.
What would I never, ever give up?	Breathing - because I would die?
If I had to give a speech on a subject I was passionate about ...	Being yourself. We are all subjected to the desires and expectations of other people throughout our lives - our parents expectations - those of our friends and partners - our children and our employers - and now even the government's expectations of what we should eat, drink, exercise, how we should behave etc. This is your life - live it for yourself - make some mistakes - but do what you want to do - make the choice that you will go to your grave knowing that everything you ever wanted to do had been achieved - if you don't - you are wasting that life.
If I could visit anywhere in the world at any time in history	I don't do much looking back - we cannot change it or live it again - but I guess if I had to choose - i would say the first settlers in Australia - learning about this new land and its seasons and wildlife - beginning a whole new community in a strange land.
If I had a million pounds to give to charity	I find this difficult - because I don't fully approve of charity. But I have a very strong altruistic nature. Since I have run my own business and struggled a bit with funding - i think i would allocate funding for new businesses - bit like a Dragon's Den scenario but no percentage in the business just a grant and the offer of help to those likely to succeed. And even more importantly the advice to those who just do not have the right attitude or product and don't see it!
