I'm a professional manager in the public sector (health), having worked my way up over 25 years from stores assistant to where I am now. I am a life long learner and always interested in politics, travel, people, arts and media, films, theatre and the opera.
I'll try most things once, even white water rafting (that was freeeezing) and I am pretty sociable. My job means I can have a 5-10 minute conversation about someone else's job pretty much 100% of the time. Why don't you test me.
I like all things mechanical from cars to motorbikes to aircraft, but its not my passion so I don't get obsessed with it.
I am mostly uninterested in sports, including football, although I will watch if its called for. At present I cycle a lot to and from work for weight loss and fitness. Its working having lost 2.5 stone (15 kilos) this year. Still unfinished business but very committed to being fit for life as they say (whoever they are).
I moved to Cambridge eight years ago now but still only know a handful of people and most of them not very well. The issue is I have worked 35 miles away for most of the time and so had no local colleagues.
I am looking to get to the point where I know a few people I can socialise with at the pub, cinema, bowling, gigs, may be meals in and out.
