My hobbies and interests

Cooking	I like cooking for friends and family but dont stress about it. I like meals with a casual welcoming mood. Throw it all in the wok and open the wine. I eat fish and veggie but am known to cook meat for others .... if I really like them
Shopping	Depends what for ... book shops love, clothes if in the mood, C D shop good, food shopping rather a chore unless a nice market
DIY	Used to do it and did major work on my first two homes- Less inclined to now. I pay and go, I guess
Housework	Somewhere in between I think. Dont like a real mess but not obsessive. Home should be clean,comfortable and relaxing and joyful
Dining out	Love to in somewhere relaxed. I enjoy most cuisines Thai, Indian, Italian .....being my favourites
Movies	I will see most things except horror. I love the cinema
Theatre	Yes that too. Like the theatre and it would rank as a good night out for me.
Music	Van Morrison, Dylan, Leonard Cohen Motown, Blues, Reggae, Maybe not country and western but Johny Cash is the exception
Gigs	I like live music probably more folk and world music type. I have recently started to enjoy small scale music festivals
Pubs	Better now not smokey. Enjoy country pub on a walk. And a pub with some good music. I like a bottle or two of wine in with friends.
Clubbing	Dont really do clubbing. Think it's one of the few things I am too old for. Thankfully!
Newspapers and magazines	Now and again on a Sunday. More a Radio Four person than a newspaper person
Books	Have you read 'Snow Falling on Cedars'? Or I like some Ian McEwan. Or Jon McGregor Poetry is something I really enjoy to read but in a private sort of a way
TV	Varies. I do veg out on Soaps when tired but can take or leave the TV other times
Watching sport	Rugby League sometimes. Not big on football but understand a lot of you out there do love it!
Playing sport	Like to walk Hills seem to be getting steeper these days! Dont play team games or sports
Hobbies	Outdoors, the coast, walking. Family and friends are very important to me. Would like to travel more ... in a non-touristy way. A big trip in a van appeals.

My hopes and dreams

In ten years I see myself	Maybe living by a river country village Maybe spells abroad, travel, live a while in one place and get to know it With home friends and family to come back to
Who would I invite to a dinner party?	John Lennon Jools Holland Seth Lakeman ...... so we could talk, sing and have peace and love. Nobody wants a quiet dinner party
My ideal date	Somewhere with food and wine, Countryside or coast, stars. Music, but not so loud we cant talk. Lots of talk some serious some not, finding out about the other person and areas of compatability
What would I never, ever give up?	My photograph albums....they reflect my life with my children and friends and the journey I have made And possibly my independence.....though I could learn to blend it. 2things! That's two things.
If I had to give a speech on a subject I was passionate about ...	Things that get me going are violence and war, right wing politics, corruption that means the poor suffer. I'm more likely to go on a demo than make a speech though I do like to talk and am confident talking in public
If I could visit anywhere in the world at any time in history	No time like the present I guess. Lots of places I might like to live for a while or visit again...parts of Africa, France, Morrocco Canada, NZ, any Scottish island I've not yet been to, Northumberland coast any time of year
If I had a million pounds to give to charity	One that my daughter's involved in, where student volunteers teach in Africa. All proceeds go to the work in the situation .... no paid jobs for charity managers
