Tigerpete (74) from Northamptonshire
I am a younger looking and feeling man of 73, average height and build, keep active, go walking,cycling,camping/caravanning, so not a lardy at all, going grey now, blue/grey eyes, tanned appearance, born under the year of the Tiger, Aries/Taurus cusp.
Outgoing, easygoing, considerate, friendly type with good sense of humour, musical, amateur musician, bit of a foody, enjoy theatre, cinema, arts and crafts.
love languages and travel, German, French, Italian, worked and lived abroad a lot, including Russia, China, Norway mid-east and europe.
Enjoy meeting people,socialising, even DIY...
Came from Kent in the south, and still have married daughters there.
Professionally, still work in the petro-chem industry when there is any, but partly retired now so do other things like an interest in house renovation, and looking forward to a project in France soon..
There's more but won't bore you any more....
Really nice to know someone who fits in and adds to the above, whome I can hope to make feel rather special...A down to earth person without hangups, but who wouldn't mind being placed on a pedestal and enjoy loads of TLC...
Someone who is also of an independent-ish nature, and someone who can be admired, can take the rough with the smooth, can accept one as is with experience of life without wanting to change the basics unduly, intelligent certainly not neccessarily academic...a listener, not unduly critical.
Oh, I don't make football, sport or tv widows....and wouldn't want the same either.
In a nutshell - well just a nice person really with whome lots may be shared.
About me
I'm 74 years old and come from Northamptonshire in the United Kingdom. I'm divorced with four children. I'm 5' 8" tall and I'd describe myself as slim. I don't smoke and I drink occasionally. I'm here for dating and friendship.
My detailed facts
My hobbies and interests
Cooking
Love it- varied, continental especially Italian and German, and a nice Chilli of course...England needs the gas!! Can be quite handy in the kitchen too - depends on the competition...
Shopping
Has to be done!! I try and be patient......
DIY
very handy - just completed renewal/updating of Kitchen and Bathroom - next - in the loft - floor, windows and a PV Solar roof system hopefully - if not will be getting on with my Camper van build...
Housework
will always share it...got to be done - can't live in a pig sty unless it's cleaned out with a yard broom!
Dining out
preferably with foody friends where food invariably better than chain restaurants and pubs, Out, I would generally look for something special, Thai for instance, or good Italian or Greek....
Movies
yep, recent ones were 'The Reader', 'Slum Dog Millionaire','Kings Speech', Black Swan .....
Theatre
great, recent local ones include 'Habeas Corpus' - Alan Bennet, done by a local amateur group, 'Duchess of Malfi' at the Royal, Northampton - got good national revues....
Music
all music that has melody, rhythm and nice to listen to..most types, but jazz, big band and classical best...people like Stan Getz, Jimmy McGriff, Mark Nightingale, and of course the late (Sir) Johnny Dankworth, Quite like Baroque and old English, like our local 'Fiori Musicali' produce...Not rapping though - sorry you cats!!
Gigs
specialised gigs preferred for Jazz, also festivals, but avid supporter of live music generally, classical concerts, including local talent in local venues...
Pubs
Yes, I like a pint of Good old Trad English Ale, & like a glass of good French or continental wines - I avoid new world ones....and not out 'with the boys' much either, maybe just where there's decent live jazz or so! Would rather partner someone of the opposite sex, naturally
Clubbing
not any more, it's not for Geriatric punk rockers like me!! Too loud, and don't enjoy their kind of music quite so much...
Newspapers and magazines
no time to Browse, limited to Sats or Sunday paper, but have various specialist monthly or quarterly magazines which I enjoy....
Books
would like to do more, but recent reads include 'Falling Leaves', 'Wild Swans', 'Bookseller of Kabul', 'The Reader'..currently Barack Obama's latest - .guess that reflects an interest in what goes on elsewhere....I'm not that academic about it...
TV
not a tv fanatic, or certain soaps, sorry. Selective about tv., 'Lark Rise to Candleford' is the kind of thing I enjoy, as was 'Downton Abbey', 'Garrows Law' .also Poirot, and that sort of thing, and travelogues and documentaries...but it would probably depend somewhat on who I would be snuggled up to, and what they wanted....
Watching sport
not often - don't make football widows - maybe a good final, but real sports like track and field athletics, and winter sports appeal to me rather more than big business ones...Garmish, Bavaria next time they hope - here we come!
Playing sport
what - at my age! Do like a good walk and the bike comes out regularly too...and did learn to swim after all these yrs recently, and to ski - strictly nursery slope as yet though....
Hobbies
try anything once...Music the main one..DIY already mentioned but have embarked on a similar project converting an ambulance into a camper van...Pupping along the canals may be a future interest...as long as I could get my piano or lovely old Hammond on there - or maybe both...then there's the rest of the jazz band.....
