Hi there, I'm a lapsed member back for one more try. I'm Feisty, funny, and a bit of a handful.
I trained as a journalist now working in marketing- self-employed. I love radio 4, reading and cooking and especially reading cookery books. I can definitely be wooed with words and sometimes even with chocolate.

For 2011 I have promised myself an Alpha male with energy and charisma. No, seriously, I'm looking for friendship and romance. Maybe starting with an initial meeting over a low-commitment cup of coffee (cheap date!) to see if there is any chemistry.

My hobbies and interests

Cooking	Love food Love to cook (I didn't get to be this buxom from eating salad). Good at Italian, Indian and Moroccan. Working on the British.
Shopping	Used to be a buyer and get paid for it - how cool is that? Love the order in John Lewis and the chaos that is TK Maxx.
DIY	I have accepted that its more effective to get Someone In to do it properly from the start. Can garden. Can create Storage Solutions. Can shampoo carpets.
Housework	I'm no Bree Van der Kamp but I'm clean enough! The dirty dishes in the kitchen will be from the meal we are eating now. I know how to file and I have place for everything but I do have newspapers and 'stuff' on the kitchen table and Things to Sell and Sort Out in boxes in my study. I love retro kitsch /Art deco and bold objets. Not keen on lots of dust-collecting ornaments. I like carpet and antique wood and am prepared to clean them: no Minimalism chez moi.
Dining out	I prefer to choose food that I wouldn't normally cook at home. French, Italian some Indian. I love fish, chicken and puddings.
Movies	Thrillers, drama, rom-coms and french films.
Theatre	middle of the road - have seen a lot of plays and ballet (loved Alvin Ally) heard a lot of Opera and sat through a few pantomimes too. Prefer mainstream.
Music	I love a good ballad and a bit of brass.... Al Green, Earth, Wind & Fire, Melody Gardot, Marvin Gaye, Barry White, Simply Red, Robin Thicke, James Morrison, Amy Winehouse, John Martyn, Pet Shop Boys, Queen, Gwen Stefani, Adele
Gigs	Noise avoider usually but enjoyed Queen with Paul Rodgers - quite loud but they have great tunes so it sounded fabulous. Keen on soul and easier listening : I'm happy if I have a good view and a seat.
Pubs	Country gastro-pubs with generous outdoor tables and lovely gardens get my vote. I'm not much of a drinker.
Clubbing	Like to dance - American JIve. Haven't disco-ed for a while. Never say never.
Newspapers and magazines	mixture of Comics and Proper newspapers. Can't resist a peek at the sleb mags though I know they are full of cr*p.
Books	Read all the time. I use the local library and am impressed with the R & J Book Club selections. Fond of Anne Tyler, Lionel Shriver, Tony Parsons. I read recipe books and plant catalogues too.
TV	CSI, Apprentice, Come Dine with Me. Colombo, Horizon, Jonathan Ross. I listen to a lot of Radio 4 and sometimes Steve Wright on Radio 2.
Watching sport	Not my thing but happy to have Wimbledon on in the background while I'm doing something else.
Playing sport	Ditto
Hobbies	I use the gym. I walk the dog. I visit auctions, car boots, shop for food... garden. Do kid stuff with my son. Nothing exotic and I'm not going to invent anything for effect.

My hopes and dreams

In ten years I see myself	I'd like to be alive! I'd like to be healthy and happy with my loved ones around somewhere nearby

My ideal date	The place is easy: Unhurried cocktails on the roof of the Dar-es-Yacout in Marrakesh. If we get on well, and this is an ideal date so we will, then downstairs for a Moroccan feast with a sitar playing in the background.... The person? I am keeping an open mind! Solvent and straight is a good start, charming and interested is a bonus
What would I never, ever give up?	Being a parent its hard to imagine losing contact with your children. I never want to give up being a mum.
If I had to give a speech on a subject I was passionate about ...	Customer Service. Yes, really. Call me old-fashioned but great Customer service makes a huge difference to everyday life and (IMO) is the best way to kick start our flagging economy.
If I could visit anywhere in the world at any time in history	those Roman feasts sound quite wild! of course I would be an Empress or Cleopatra in her heyday long before the kiss of the asp
If I had a million pounds to give to charity	to liberate child slaves and stop the misery of human trafficking
My "and finally" section ...	When I say something sarky I always mean it in a nice way. Really.
