susansunflower (43) from Hampshire
Hello there everybody, well this is the bit where you describe yourself. Hmmmm... OK, well I am about 5'1" tall, I have curly hair which I have grown to live with so you won't find me with a pair of hair straightners - life is just too short! I have bluey/grey eyes and a distinctive laugh. I think I have a good sense of humour (well I make myself laugh all the time!) and am willing to try most things in life, although I have never seen the point of jumping out of a serviceable aircraft or off a structure on a rubber band. But hey, if that is your thing then super!
I have two sons, 17 and 21. The 21 year old is in Brighton at Uni and the 17 year old is at college. Both are into music, eldest plays guitar in a band and youngest is into music production so I am surrounded by sound.
I enjoy going to gigs, gardening, taking photographs of random objects and the obligatory food and wine with interesting people.
Looking for new friends (both male and female) to increase my social sphere. I am single so if I do happen to meet the man of my dreams that would be amazing too but I am in no rush and happy to see how things go.
About me
I'm 43 years old and come from Hampshire in the United Kingdom. I'm single with two children. I'm 5' 1" tall and of average build. I don't smoke and I drink occasionally. I'm here for dating, friendship, hobbies and interests and business contacts.
My detailed facts
My hobbies and interests
Cooking
I enjoy cooking, but enjoy being cooked for more! I will try pretty much anything once, and again if it's tasty... I make a mean chocolate cake and an luscious lemon cake.
Shopping
Not a shopaholic, if I do have to shop I'd rather do it alone, unless it is the supermarket dash which is always more fun with two.
DIY
I enjoy DIY and interior decorating. I know how to put a shelf up straight and I am a dab hand at tiling and hanging wallpaper. Which room would you like me to start in?
Housework
Housework is a necessity rather than an enjoyable hobby. I can be sporadic and go in phases if I have other more entertaining things going on in my life it means my house can look a mess, if life is dull then I will have a tidy ship!
Dining out
I enjoy eating out, usually as I am in good company so the dish isn't necessarily important. I love most foods Indian, Thai, Chinese, Italian, French, English... a hog roast on a sunny summers afternoon in a nice country pub...
Movies
I don't go to the cinema as much as I would like, must make more effort to do this. Favourite film is a toughie... probably What's Eating Gilbert Grape, (or anything with Johnny Depp - yummy!), Blood Diamond, (although not usually a Leonardo fan), The Pursuit of Happyness is also a great film as is Walk the Line...

Theatre
Enjoy the theatre, but there again never end up going enough. Always used to do the pantos with the kids when they were small, last trip to the theatre was to see Wind in the Willows, the one before that it was Cyrano de Bergerac. Recently went to the Albert Hall to see Tim Minchin, he was fabulous.

Music
I like pretty much all genres of music but am a rock chick at heart. All time favourites are probably Green Day, Foo Fighters, Muse, Aerosmith, Bowling for Soup, Cyndi Lauper, Queen, Blondie, Prince and the newest acquisition Frank Turner.... the list goes on! Also love Billy Talent, Biffy Clyro, My Chemical Romance, Eminem, Elton John, Evanescence, The Killers, Lenny Kravitz, Lost Prophets, Mumford and Sons, The Pretty Reckless, Nick Cave, Offspring, Paramore, Reel Big Fish, Placebo, Johnny Cash, Jools Holland, Adele, Vampire Weekend.... sorry I just can't keep this up but I'm sure you get the idea!
Gigs
I love going to gigs on a pretty regular basis. I usually end up going with my eldest son as we (strangely!) have similar musical tastes. Not fussed on the venue, although I love a small intimate gig I can also be found at the 02 or Wembley - I think my car knows its way there by itself.
Pubs
You are more likely to find me in a pub garden on a sunny summers day chatting to friends than in the winter. Not really one to prop up the side of the bar just for the sake of it.
Clubbing
Did way too much of the club scene when I was young so really don't want to go back there now.
Newspapers and magazines
Usually find me behind the Guardian or Observer, occasionally the Sunday Times but get most of my news online these days. I practically never buy magazines and certainly do not subscribe to the celebrity culture.
Books
Love a good read. All time favourite is To Kill a Mockingbird closely followed by The Lord of the Rings. You may also find me reading a trashy love story on occasion. Currently also have a number of photography books on the go....
TV
Hardly watch any TV, although my guilty pleasures are a bit of comedy, Never Mind the Buzzcocks, QI, IT Crowd, Live at the Apollo, Grand Designs.... and I don't watch soaps.
Watching sport
Not a sport watcher, might watch a bit of Wimbledon on a rainy summer day or a random rugby match - but only for the players legs!
Playing sport
Not really my thing.... although I will watch under sufferance!
Hobbies
I love gardening, I find it extremely therapeutic and there is nothing nicer than seeing the fruits of your labour flourish - although my garden is the size of a postage stamp!
I love photography and taking photographs of random objects. I prefer abstract and scenic photography to portraiture, although I do take photos of people. I also like baking cakes.
