Your life could change from getting to know me. I believe that I am caring, considerate and sensitive, intellectual, trusting and fun to be with. I hope to share it with someone wonderful to enjoy life with. I hope to bring the hidden best out of a partner on all levels, and them in me. I treat people as I would like to be treated myself. I care for appearance and quality of life, and have good humour;
I have dealt pragmatically with the loss of my wife, my mother, and father on successive years. It was the end of an era, but opening up new opportunities. I remain positive and hopeful for the future with a new life before me, ideally with someone to share it with.

I am a retired physicist with a deep interest in astronomy, astro-imaging , and photography, with a passion for science and understanding and explaining the glories of nature. I also love the arts, pictures and architecture, and especially music and have made many recordings.
I have now moved house to a rural dark sky, for my astronomy, and to a new life. The last stage of this is an extensive house renovation project exploiting my flare for design and also utilising green energy to dramatically reduce running costs, so I can continue to live in it on my pension.
I have two adult children, one local but still dependent on me for transport, and I have two cats.
I have been Internet dating on and off over this whole period and made many really good friends, and they are the best asset one could ever have, but finding a sustaining partner is difficult. I generally find my knowledge of science is of interest, and then they find maybe I'm on another planet! I am in general good health, but I'm not up to long-distance travelling and think long-distance relationships are impractical. Maybe a part-time partnership would work, as we all have habits and family commitments, and possibly property of our own, just as we like. Ever hopeful for that certain someone to enjoy my life with.

Hoped for partner to be caring and considerate, helpful, and sensitive, trusting, faithful and loving, with good sense of appearance and humour. To be positive and hopeful for the future, but pragmatic. With a good degree of common interest and attitude; good in conversation with intellectual outlook. Is computer literate. Loves classical music and fine art, and is interested in science. Needs to be close to easily visit homes; nice to have holidays with, or maybe eventually live with, even part of time. Needs to allow space and time for each other, for family issues, and for solo interests and hobbies; but to share and enjoy common interests and pleasures.
