As everyone says its difficult to describe yourself. Family would say I'm independent, sociable, sometimes stubborn, caring and sometimes unpredictable. Friends would say I'm loyal, enjoy a good night out or in, being hospitable and caring.
I'm about to retire from the civil service - I prefer to think of it as the new start I need to my life since my husband of 24 years died 3 years ago. I hope it will be the start of many new adventures, experiences, travel and making new friends.I want to learn Spanish, photography, yoga and go back to learning and practicing Tai Chi.
I like to walk, go to the theatre and listen to music, at the moment I'm into Elbow and Bellowhead. I also like visiting historical sites and learning about other cultures.
Naturally I'd like to meet someone with some of the same characteristics but not all - that's the fun of relationships, the meeting of two people with differences and similarities. I'm not sure yet that I'm ready for a full blown serious relationship but who knows. Right now I'd settle for a new friend to share walks, days out, worries and happiness and who knows a bit of romance as well. I'm hoping that this site will have people who are willing to try someone who has a bit of baggage, an open mind and be willing to take a chance.
