Been in Hessle ever since I came home from hospital as a baby - except for 6 months in Scarborough. I found the seaside in winter a bit depressing!
I'm about to start a PGCE to teach secondary Biology. I like the challenge of kids today and I want to give them what I never got enough of - good teachers! I actually wanted to be a football manager. I had the chance to take a coaching job at Watford AFC. But I decided it is more important to coach kids on life than it is to coach them on football. Also, I stayed in Watford when I went to see the Dolphins and I wasn't that impressed, though I saw the hotel where they filmed "I'm Alan Partridge", the best sitcom of the last 20 years!
I am part of a local amateur dramatics group and am about to star in a play for a local festival. Hoping to get Best Actor, of course!
Also, in a chess club, but I'm pretty bad at that! Good fun though, and I think it improves memory.
I'm a very good pool player. I like shopping and have quite a collection of fancy basketball shoes. Interestingly, I also play basketball! Even thinking of training to wrestle. I was inspired by meeting Ric Flair (see photo). Not sure I could manage it though. Knees not so good.
Got two degrees, one in Media, one in Psychology. I'm also enjoying myself on the stock market, not doing too bad. Looking into starting my own record label and radio station (primarily to promote our own material)!!!
I'm busy. Only missing companionship.

My hobbies and interests

Cooking	There is a pasta bake that I like to make, with bacon and cheese. I also love to make Chilli Con Carne. Baking is something I prefer and I make a good traditional Hull dock workers' shortbread.
Shopping	I love shopping. I like to see all of the colourful and interesting things to buy. I like buying shoes. I like to get shoes of all different colours and different styles. I love shopping for books, DVDs, CDs, clothes and shoes. Not so keen on going at peak times. I can stand crowds, but I wouldn't be at my lively best.
DIY	I can put a nail in.
Housework	I do a lot of the tidying. I like watching the washing go around. I try to avoid dusty situations as I am allergic to it! I do like gardening. I would like to design a garden one day.
Dining out	I like to eat Italian food, but I get nervous eating out. I'll do anything out but eat. That said, if I have good company, I forget I'm nervous. Two years ago, at the drama group Christmas dinner, I was very nervous and couldn't eat much. This year, one of the group member's husbands brought a quiz and doing it made me forget I was nervous!
Movies	I don't mind being in front of a crowd but not in one. I could do a cinema if you didn't mind me holding your hand for support, but I don't like being quiet.
Theatre	Same thing. I've been in a few plays now, and I've never been that nervous. I don't like being in the audience though. I like being in front of one though!!!
Music	I like lots of music. Probably my favourite is Rock n Roll, followed closely by Pop, of the Brian Wilson style. My favourite group is The Pearlfishers. I also like Country, Folk and Soul above other styles.
Gigs	I like folk gigs. Local Beverley Festival is good if they don't smoke you out (going crazy with the dry ice). Not big fan of huge crowds, though I did go to Wembley to see the Miami Dolphins (NFL).
Pubs	Just country pubs. Not a clubber. Too many freaks in towns at night.
Clubbing	I just said. Drunk idiots causing trouble are no friends to me.
Newspapers and magazines	I read Mojo the music magazine. Also subscribe to a couple of basketball magazines. Sometimes get BBC History Magazine if it has a subject I like (American history, the World Wars, or Maritime history (Captain Cook especially)).
Books	I'm mainly into non-fiction. I have books on basketball, motor racing, Native Americans, American West, dogs, astronomy, general history, country music, blues, soul (mainly Stax).
TV	I like Coronation Street and occasionally see Emmerdale, but no other soaps. I liked the new Crossroads when it came back though (but the first new series, not the one with Jane Asher). Comedy is my big thing on TV. Not a big fan of most modern comedy, but there is the odd thing. Armando Iannucci is probably the leading man of modern comedy in my eyes.
Watching sport	I like to keep up with basketball. Not big into football, but I love the tactics. I'd love to be a manager or coach. Almost took a job at Watford AFC!
Playing sport	I used to play basketball in a team. Just play on my own now.
Hobbies	I collect shoes and try to collect weird pop culture items.

My hopes and dreams

In ten years I see myself	I wanted to be a Clinical Psychologist, but realised that it is too depressing. Sports Psychologist or Teacher. Though, I do have a dream to start my own radio station and record label.
Who would I invite to a dinner party?	Red Auerbach, Bill Walsh, Churchill.
My ideal date	Go and explore a nice area. Maybe some shopping.
What would I never, ever give up?	Dogs. Need them to keep me happy.
If I had to give a speech on a subject I was passionate about ...	Referees being disrespected by modern footballers (they shouldn't be). It seems trivial, but it represents modern society.
If I could visit anywhere in the world at any time in history	50s America. Exciting Rock n Roll times, like in Happy Days. I'm like Ralph, but no red hair.
If I had a million pounds to give to charity	The one I worked for.
