Hello, thanks for taking the time to look at my profile. Difficult to sum myself up like this... but here goes!

In many ways I'm a person of contrasting aspects - sociable but enjoying time to myself, outgoing sometimes but quiet sometimes, I enjoy the simple things of life but am a bit of a deep thinker, and I have a positive outlook on life.
I'm thoughtful and caring and I value friendship.

I'm a bit lefty and I care about 'green' issues etc but am aware that I need to do more about this in my life.

I work in the 'caring professions' at a professional level. I enjoy being financially independant and being 'my own woman'.

Things I enjoy/appreciate include independant and world fims, live music, a pint and a giggle in my local on occasion, eating out, good conversation, the beautiful area where I live, gardening, different cultures, architecture, art galleries, meeting friends, weekends away, reading, current affairs, live music, travel/holidays in the uk and away, and loads of other stuff when the mood takes me! Phew, that's a bit of a list! :o)

Life is exciting - there is so much to learn, see and do...new places are wonderful, people are fascinating; knowledge, understanding, seeing, sensing, experiencing - there is so so much in this world that is just amazing...but the quiet times nourish me too...sitting on a rock on a headland looking out to sea, nobody else around for miles, just the feel of the sun on my face, the gentle murmur of the waves and the call of the sea birds...


Appearance wise I think I'm attractive, am of larger build, look young for my age (so I'm told!)and am generally a casual dresser (jeans etc) but can dress up to an extent if mood or occasion warrants it.

I'm single with two lovely nearly grown up children who are with me part time.

I'd like to make new friends and get to know some new people and do some things, and it would also be great if I came across a special person... there's room in my heart for a lovely someone....

Age and appearance isn't particularly important to me; I like genuine, thoughtful, intelligent (not necessarily academically) people who know a bit of life and who are warm and accepting of others.
