My hobbies and interests

Cooking	Put the recipe book back on the shelf and raid the ingredients cupboards.
Shopping	Quite enjoy it if not too tired.
DIY	Can do some things quite well. Need help with the rest.
Housework	Like to keep up appearances. Know how much effort it takes just to keep the clothes and crockery in circulation.
Dining out	I'm up for it if you are. Greek or Italian perhaps?
Movies	Pick through the storylines quite carefully. More into characters than filmstars.
Theatre	Really enjoy the "before", "interval" and "coffee" drinks as a chance to compare notes. Favourite plays are ones I go to with other people.
Music	Much broader tastes than I used to have. Appreciate those artists who have put some effort into learning an instrument, or at least sing to a musical score.
Gigs	Prefer evening gigs to all-weekend festivals. Fave sound at the moment is Duffy (though I've not yet heard her sing in Welsh).
Pubs	Like pubs these days - the air is fresh and they serve coffee. Can even get something to eat at most places.
Clubbing	Prefer to go clubbing with friends, as I find the music drowns out most conversation.
Newspapers and magazines	Will look at most things if I've got the time. Was brought up on the Times.
Books	As a hostage to self-improvement, I'm currently struggling through a text book on value engineering. Found Chaucer a bit heavy going, as we didn't have dictionary.com then.
TV	Flick through the news and music video channels. Like the occasional documentary and of course The Simpsons.
Watching sport	Something I'd like to try is spectating at a large, live sporting event. Have been to Wembley, but only for a rock concert.
Playing sport	Cycling and swimming, when it's warm enough.
Hobbies	Making things out of wood and metal, then drawing them to scale.

My hopes and dreams

In ten years I see myself	Healthy and enjoying life.
Who would I invite to a dinner party?	My good friends Hugh & Selina, plus whoever else sees herself there.
My ideal date	Slightly shorter than me, charming and witty with an infectious smile and a laugh like - well unforgetable really.
What would I never, ever give up?	Some sort of motorbike or motor scooter, because I can't live without one.
If I had to give a speech on a subject I was passionate about ...	Muesli.
If I could visit anywhere in the world at any time in history	Washington DC, USA for the museums. But I'd want to be there tomorrow (if tomorrow ever came).
If I had a million pounds to give to charity	I would become a patron of a design charity which found work for unemployed disabled people.
My "and finally" section ...	I prefer dogs to cats.
