My hobbies and interests

Cooking	i enjoy cooking something special for company. From a chinese banquet,to a sunday roast to amaretto torte or squidgy chocolate cake for afters. My kids are fussy eaters though,arn't they all? so it tends to be meat and two veg mostly.
Shopping	not keen. it's a necessity. i'm the," if it fits, buy it" type when it comes to clothes for example.
DIY	not me !
Housework	Not at the top of my priority list, having a busy life but i like it reasonable. i cheat, i employ a cleaner.On the other hand, tidy it may not always be and the dust might be allowed to settle, but it's home to my girls and i.!
Dining out	I love to dine out. Top notch restaurant or local pasta place. i'm happy at both.
Movies	Occasionally go to the pics but it's got to be worth watching. I tend to avoid the blockbusters. Period dramas or thought provoking story lines help.
Theatre	i love the theatre and regularly travel to london for a show and a meal out. I love serious theatre. chekov, moliere, ibsen, oscar wilde (is he serious) I take my kids to suitable theatre too. Horrid Henry was the last trip, but it's a start. Musicals i can take or leave but i must take the girls to see "lion king"
Music	I like Clare Teal "the queen of swing." and big bans or latin jazz. Also a bit of ?country/rock e.g.Shania twain. Old favorites are Queen Abba, Human league.Then the new bands include The Raconteurs.The Kaiser Chirfs, Kasabian. I'm classically trained personally and enjoy classical music, but tend not to seek it out.
Gigs	occasionally, especially with girlfriends, since my seperation.
Pubs	with friends. it's the company and the location that make a pub.
Clubbing	love a good bop but more at private parties than down town at the night club.
Newspapers and magazines	Times for the sudoku. The independent as an easy read. Maybe the Guardian. Anything but the Telegraph really
Books	i do like a good book but tend to find finding the time difficult. Easy reads like Kate Mosse Labyrinthe, Dan Brown, The De Vinci Code to the classics or more pertinant modern novel. The odd booker prize winner too.
TV	not really
Watching sport	not really
Playing sport	have played many in the past. hockey, badminton etc. tend to find it hard to fit in, as it requires regular commitment, at present. Took the irls rock climbing with friends recently though. Does that count.
Hobbies	i have played piano and saxaphone.I've tried a few different things too. Been up in a hot air balloon briefly. Scuba diving in Barbados, Horse riding,(my own horse as a teenager) flown a plane, again briefly. etc

My hopes and dreams

In ten years I see myself	i guess just living a happy full life, successful at work,succesful at home, watching my kids grow up and live life to the full.
Who would I invite to a dinner party?	Nelson Mandela, Oscar Wilde and Einstein? maybe there should be some women too? Elizabeth I or Marie Curie
My ideal date	a gormet meal at a good restaurant, a picnic in the park on a beautiful summer day or a visit to a site in the country. take your pick.
What would I never, ever give up?	my kids, do i need to say why?
If I had to give a speech on a subject I was passionate about ...	work related no doubt. how sad is that? Delivering Health for all!
If I could visit anywhere in the world at any time in history	so many to choose from.
If I had a million pounds to give to charity	well i feel it should be a medical related charity but to be honest it would probably be third world development projects. Without basic needs being addressed what good are medical advances globally anyway?
