My hobbies and interests

Cooking	I enjoy cooking, although i don't get much opportunity to be creative. Cooking for one is not a lot of fun!
Shopping	It all depends on the day and my mood. Rarely shop for the sake of shopping, but if there's something specific to shop for, then why not.
DIY	Mildly disinterested.
Housework	Try to keep things tidy, although that was quite difficult when I had all the kids at home. Not a problem now as they all have to take care of their own places.
Dining out	Love eating out and in...Italian, Indian, Chinese, Thai...anything ethnic.
Movies	Love going to the cinema. Favourite film of all time is "Casablanca"...told you I was a romantic.
Theatre	The one thing I regret not doing more of.
Music	A little of most things...rock, blues, jazz, classical, folk. Dating myself a bit, but my 2 favourite bands are the Moody Blues and Steely Dan. I guess I'm just a product of my generation.
Gigs	Love live music...pubs, small festivals.
Pubs	Pint of ale or a glass of wine. The further out in the countryside, the better.
Clubbing	Behind me, I'm afraid.
Newspapers and magazines	Read the papers occasionally. Photography magazines occasionally.
Books	Don't read as much as I probably should. Favourite books: The Shadow of the Wind, The Life of Pi and K-PAX.
TV	Watch in the evenings to unwind after work. Partial to mysteries...Morse, Poirot, etc. Favourite current series are Doc Martin and Life (Damien Lewis, not David Attenborough).
Watching sport	Watch the occasional England football or cricket match.
Playing sport	Used to play tennis, but haven't picked up a racqet in a few years. Back in my university days I looked a bit like Bjorn Borg, but didn't play like him!
Hobbies	Love live music and photography. Usually do them in tandem.

My hopes and dreams

In ten years I see myself	Happy and knowing my kids were happy.
Who would I invite to a dinner party?	Stephen Fry, Martin Luther King Jr. and Mickey Mantle.
My ideal date	Good food, good wine, good music in a quiet, romantic environment. Or a long walk on a sunny beach.
What would I never, ever give up?	My children (do yo need to ask why?). And my camera.
If I had to give a speech on a subject I was passionate about ...	A 2-part speech...personal responsibility and treating others well.
If I could visit anywhere in the world at any time in history	Tomorrow I'd love to visit Italy.
If I had a million pounds to give to charity	A children's charity. One that works in poverty-sticken areas.
