I am 6'2'', slim, with a look (some say) of Tom Conti or Louis Theroux about me. Others (less kindly perhaps) say that I look like Groucho Marx without the moustache. I'm deeply romantic, tactile, affectionate and if we ever get together, you'll never have to open a car door again.

I am a pianist & composer and writer. I play anything from jazz to classical. For a small fee I will play Abba and Meatloaf. For a huge fee I will play Lloyd Webber but the sums of money involved here are prohibitive. I can serenade you with Nina Simone and Rachmaninov but not necessarily at the same time.

I am largely domesticated (I even leave the loo seat down) but my cooking is eratic; my fish pie has been widely praised. My cheese cake has been widely binned.

I love to give, receive and witness small acts of kindness, given freely with no ulterior motive or expectation of reward. In the end, it's only love and kindness that really matter.

In a former life (if I've had one) I was probably a pirate. Don't worry though, I was a very nice, kind and benevolent pirate. The sort who would give his men paternity leave and allow them free use of the company rowing boat at weekends.

I love to debate but hate to argue. I keep track of world events. I am passionate about everything I do, just as I am passionate about freedom, equality and justice. When people become angry rather than passionate, it's best to treat them as if they were drunk. So I'll tend to walk away from anger but never the chance for a good debate/discussion.

Music is in my blood and every atom in my body. Tchaikovsky breaks my heart because he writes from the heart. Don't confuse that with sentimentality - it's a Russian thing. Beethoven lifts my soul. Lloyd Webber makes me throw up in the sink!

I'm looking for 'the one'. It's not proving easy but I'm not going to settle for second best. I have a sickness - I'm a Romantic - and there's no known cure.
