About me

Me?..... Erm...... Who am I? Dyslexic, fan of most things from the 80's with a stupid / twisted sense of humour?

Then :-

I was born in linconshire at a very young age, When I was born I was seen as a freak due to only having 10 fingers and 10 toes (And minimal webbing between them), So my family was exiled to south Bristol because I didn't fancy my sister...... Or livestock. I got to 18 or so In various bristol postcodes till we moved back to linconshire. I stayed for 6 or 7 years till I realized despite my nice job in-charge of a warehouse where I didn't actually do that much in the way of work (And the police that had a sense of humour about my habit of driving everywhere at more than 100) I hated the lack of anything to do or the way everything was crap and no one else could see it ( I might not be a party animal globe trotter but I at least know of the existence of places that aren't in linconshire), So I returned to bristol..... 6 months later my folks came to the same conclusion, sold up and moved back too....

Now :-

I live in Yate with a friend who lets me rent part of his house, I drive a white van for a living at the moment but as the company keep tightening the screw (and as the pay is crap) I think that after 7 years I've had enough, I drink rarely, I smoke (I know, filthy habit, after I finish writing this I'll beat myself with a stick and say 400 hail Marys, honest :) ), I like the idea of religion but haven't "seen the light" and don't think I ever will, (I don't think I need a book telling me that it wound be good to be nice to people)........

What I'm doing with my life :-
Not a lot at the moment as the rut I presently find myself stuck in is somewhat comfortable.

One thing people usually notice about me is the way you can set your watch by me...... That is, of course if you don't mind your watch being 30 minutes late.

My favorite things :)

Books = The ladybird big book of things to colour in. Anything by Douglas Adams, Some Isaac Asimov (there's some of his work that I just cant get into), The IKEA catalogue (God bless that cheap Swedish flat packed goodness).

Movies = The 4 Alien films, Forest gump, Equilibrium, The Shawshank Redemption, Godzilla, Most films with cars going "Vroom Vroom" really fast in them (though I don't like watching Formula 1... Strange).

Music = I mainly go for older music like Queen, The Police, Aerosmith, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, Dire Straits, Rolling Stones, Metallica, Guns N' Roses, Van Halen, Duran Duran, but I do like some modern stuff, like Fatboy Slim Scissor Sisters and Prodigy. The problem is I drive for a living, I hear all the new stuff on the radio over and over again, So when it finally gets to the shop I'm sick of it.

Foods = Anything quick and easy to make, I make a mean Shepperd's pie or Spanish omelet, But thats about as far as I can go in the kitchen (maybe I should get a book or something?) :)

Thoughts:-
When the distance between two jobs can be as much as 200 miles you get a lot of thinking time.

Some of the recent thoughts have been.....

The virtual reality games that came out in the 90's were crap because the PC's running um were not up to the task, Why hasn't anyone reinvented it today? Now we live in an age where you can have quad CPU/GPU computers the possibilities are there. With just 3 R/C helicopter gyros, a twin TFT headset could know exactly how you've tilted your head and translate that into the game (or OS, think about it, A 3d desktop where you could just look at a file to open it.......!!!!! COME ON LOGITECH/MICROSOFT, MAKE IT HAPPEN !!!

And, Why is it that the word for something as everyday as a "chair" is different in most languages but "TAXI" is pronounced near as damn it the same everywhere?

Also I wonder if there really is a Miss "Right" out there for me, And if by now she's settled down with Mr "Well, He's not that bad". Has the boat sailed and I wasn't aboard?

Anyway.....

You should message me if you feel that you want to live happily ever after.....(that sounds far too nice and fluffy, What I mean is, If you don't message me I will hunt you down and do unpleasant and "questionable" things to you with a Butternut Squash*)

(*subject to availability)
