RahulB (38) from North London
Tedious curmudgeon, 36, but old at heart, seeks monumentally inappropriate consort for marriage-from-hell and messy divorce.
No timewasters please.
Seriously though, how much can you really tell from all this stuff? You learn more about someone in the first 30 seconds of meeting them face-to-face than a million words or a thousand pictures can ever convey.
But, as words are all I have here, I shall try to make them sing as truly as I can. So. You might be able to tell from my profile that I'm articulate and (I like to think) witty, with a lyrical streak a mile wide. For the record, I'm also a proper romantic- which is hard work, as my fellow-sufferers out there will know.
If only I knew. Someone to unlock life's magic, to light the blue touchpaper to the roman candles in my soul. I wish I had a checklist, but love doesn't seem to work that way, for me anyway- it's something ineffable, (al)chemical, and often entirely (& delightfully) unpredictable...
And if that spark drifts perpetually out of reach then I'd love to meet adventurers of the spirit, with whom to ride out the storm-tossed seas and while away those dazzling south Pacific days.
About me
I'm 38 years old and come from North London in the United Kingdom. I'm single with no kids. I'm 5' 7" tall and I have an athletic build. I don't smoke and I drink occasionally. I'm here for dating, friendship and hobbies and interests.
My detailed facts
My hobbies and interests
Cooking
I love to cook, and even when it feels like a pain it always does me good. I cook a lot of Indian food, as well as some thai, Mediterranean and north African food. I like street food, peasant food, food that speaks of the landscape or culture that produced it.
Shopping
Hmmm, it's fine and all, it can be a moderately creative activity, but I'm wary of mindless worshipping at the temple of consumerism.
DIY
I dislike DIY, because I'm very good at it. Seriously, I did my whole flat, floors, walls, tiling, painting, stripping, plastering, the lot. And I'm a perfectionist which means it took a huge effort which, though it looks great, I can never quite forget!

Housework
Houseproud but hate housework. Very well, I contradict myself.
Dining out
I love eating out- as for types of food see my comments on cooking- not up for Michelin stars, I like big flavours and rough edges.
Movies
Ah the silver screen. Yes, love it, particularly the Everyman, where you can sit on sofas and have drinks delivered to your table. I like pretty much everything from blockbusters to arthouse, for some reason I seem to like pretty much all French and Japanese films.
Theatre
Not such a theatre fan- the fourth wall puts me off compared to the cinema- but whenever I go I love it. Last thing I saw was Midsummer which was absolutely amazing.
Music
Oooh, where to start. I'm a headphone junkie, and my musical drugs of choice change regularly. Reently I;'ve liked a lot of Passion Pit, Teenage Fanclub, Brandon Fowers and Prince.
Gigs
Not such a gig-goer, music is more a personal than a communal experience for me. Or maybe I just need to get out more.
Pubs
Sure, I love a cosy pub or a classy bar but I'm strictly moderation these days. I love my first drink, like the second, could take or leave the third.
Clubbing
Whew, not for a while now. I had a few summers of love but then the music got a bit hardcore, the chemical enhancements less enticing, and maybe I just grew up a bit. I'm open to persuasion though.
Newspapers and magazines
I kicked my glossy magazine habit and these days only read a paper when I've got a long train journey and treat myself to an indulgent Observer (for the crossword) or Sunday Times (for the sheer heft. It takes me all week to read!)
Books
Damn, I'm writing a lot here and I'm getting tired. Yes, I love reading and still have an ambition to write that novel. I can bore you with my literary prejudices in person.
TV
Sport, movies, cooking programmes. Antiques Roadshow. I am old.
Watching sport
Not a big live sports fan, though Wimbledon is good fun.
Playing sport
Yes, I swim, cycle, climb, and hit all sorts of balls with all sorts of bats.
Hobbies
I'm exhausted- you just make something up, it'll probably be true.
