I have an outgoing personality, enjoy getting to know people. Intelligent, good sense of humour (and find I need it sometimes!). Married several times but still not found the right person. Young, 59 years old. I'm sure this will condemn me to a pitch outside the City Walls but I'm a smoker.

Interested in a diverse range of subjects - people, history (particularly Henry VIII), old/interesting buildings, the Titanic, aliens, serial killers (although I have no desire to meet one!), music and churches/churchyards. Although I'm interested in all of the latter (and a whole lot more), I don't spout on about them ad nausea!

I enjoy eating out at Olde Worlde (quirky) pubs/inns - adore Indian food - love the countryside and coast; have a desire to visit the Scottish islands and numerous places abroad.

Main hobbies - gardening, reading, listening to music, decorating, sudoku.

Short term, I'm looking to extend my circle of friends, both male and female (ladies for friendship only), and hope to achieve this through the medium of Midsummer's Eve. Interesting, down-to-earth people, who don't necessarily need to have the same interests as myself. Positive people, who like to have a laugh and simply enjoy being alive.

Long term, I'm hoping to meet a straightforward, decent guy (initially for friendship), who doesn't have terminals full of baggage and is definitely unattached from former partner(s). Don't mind guys having an interest in sport but not an obsession. No couch potatoes/mind-gamers need apply nor guys who still live with their mother!

I'm a fairly tall lady and have no desire to spend the rest of my life wearing flatties/walking with a humped back so my ideal match would be at least 5'9" tall, aged between 55-62.
