I am a Glasgow girl living and working in Stranraer - not on the ferries, the shifts would kill me. I am a happy-go-lucky type who enjoys a good debate as much as a good laugh.

I would like to meet someone who knows how to treat a lady. I would like a man who is comfortable in his own skin, someone who is not looking for a mother or housekeeper - been there done that.
Oh, and guys - a bit of honesty please, if your wife doesn't understand you then its odds on that no other female will either!!!!

My hobbies and interests

Cooking	I have been told that I am a very good cook. I love cooking and can turn my hand to most styles of cooking - if I have to choose a favourite it would be Italian - oh and all manner of soups
Shopping	I am a woman ergo I love shoping. I dont have to be buying, a wee trundle round the shops increases the adrenalin lol
DIY	Ok, I can change a plug, but i do beleive the little books you get when you buy stuff are called MANuals for a reason!!!
Housework	OH, do they ask men this question!! I like a tidy house, however, if its housework or out, then I am out. Life is too short - not a slob however.
Dining out	Eating out is something I do enjoy. I love seafood or a really good Indian. However, I like trying new things, so would not be averse to sampling exciting new foods.
Movies	Movies - well, I either love them or hate them. I don't really do the chic-flick thing - I prefer a good bio-pic or some totally fictional gripping movie.
Theatre	Being from Glasgow initially, I have been spoiled for choice re the theatre. I love watching new companies giving old plays a modern take. I also enjoy the old masters and ok, I will admit to enjoying the odd musical a la Billy Elliot etc.
Music	I have a really ecclectic collection of music. I will be truthfull and say I do not like C&W - perhaps you could educate me.
Gigs	Its been a while since i've been to a live gig. Embarrassingly have to admit that the last live gig was The Proclaimers - do they count??? I would love to go and see Robbie Williams live - please dont laugh, I just think he would put on a great show - secrets out now!!!
Pubs	If the pub has live music then I will be in my glory. I do like to socialise, however, I am as much at home in a quiet country pub as I am in one in the big smoke.
Clubbing	Not really into clubs, unless its age appropriate. I definately don't want to be bumping into any of the young people I work with while I try to do an impression af someone who can dance.
Newspapers and magazines	I tend to read daily newspapers on line due to time constraints. At the weekend I enjoy the Guardian on Saturday and The Observer on Sunday. Dont read the red tops, but thats my choice, doesnt have to be yours.
Books	I love reading and tend to have a few books on the go at the one time. I have just finished a Geoff Dyer, I am in the middle of a Joseph O'Connor and have a Christopher Brookmyre on pending.
TV	Oh, the big TV debate. I don't watch much tv during the summer, and a bit more over winter. I enjoy CIS, Without a Trace and other Police type drama's.
Watching sport	Watching sport - do you mean watching the queues outside your local store on sale day!!!
Playing sport	Is playing sport not an oxymoron......I do like to walk and swim occasionaly, but to me thats not playing.
Hobbies	I recently started sea-fishing, which is amazing - from a boat, not the waters edge.

My hopes and dreams

In ten years I see myself	On a beach with a nice man and a Cosmopolitan.
Who would I invite to a dinner party?	Maya Angelou, Elton John and my dad.
My ideal date	A surprise, I love surprises.
What would I never, ever give up?	Breathing, cause it would kill me.
If I had to give a speech on a subject I was passionate about ...	All past and present British Governments lack of funding re education, youth emplyment and youth health.
If I could visit anywhere in the world at any time in history	IThe Great Wall Of China.
If I had a million pounds to give to charity	Half to oncology research, the other half to fund youth employment in Galloway.
