Now retired, I feel this is an opportunity to start afresh. On the outside, I'm friendly, caring, honest quiet living but on the inside I'm fairly adventurous. I can be content curling up in front of TV with a glass of red wine or going for midnight stroll. My tastes in theatre/cinemas are just as varied as my hobbies, and ranges from Shakespear to Harry Potter. I have one daughter living away from home. I don't feel ready for the slippers and knitting yet. I see my retirement as a challenge for the future.

I would like to make new friends. Living in a small town has its restrictions, the town itself is dying commercially and has become a sleeper town. Like other small places, the spirit of community has long gone. I would like to meet and chat to other people. Friendships develop but they all need a starting place so I am quite happy meeting people on a "see how it goes" basis
