So you want to know about me then? Here goes……….. I see myself as generous, loyal, playful, the eternal optimist, not complicated, I talk in my sleep, am tone deaf, easy going, fun to be with, pretty laid back and opinionated. I enjoy shellfish, laughing, lying in a hot bath of bubbles with well chilled wine and a good book till I go all wrinkly!! (But the idea of ditching the book for the man I love sounds pretty appealing.)

I enjoy the humour of Jasper Carrott, Michael MacIntyre, Lee Evans, and Victoria Wood, laughing at life’s observations. I am a member of a gym but don’t go as often as I should cause I’m too busy and frankly its boring – thankfully my body hasn’t totally given up the ghost yet – I’m not awful to look at as long as you ignore the warts and wooden leg – it cost me a fortune to get the photos airbrushed LOL :o)
My hobbies include keeping fit, cooking, entertaining, baking and decorating celebration cakes. I love to chat, email, read and chill. I enter competitions regularly and so far this year, have already won a couple of spa breaks - I'd definitely recommend them for a fabulous wind down - and even better if they are freebies!!!
My goals include getting my internet business off the ground and earning a decent income without all the hours usually associated with a job so that I can get on with living my life - cos its running out a bit fast for my liking.
I'm a good friend and fiercely loyal. I hate dishonesty, thieves, liars and two faced people. I am mostly good for a laugh (I do have my off days) and enjoy all types of music, company, and things to do.
I love a night out at the theatre, watching a gig be it at an arena or in the local pub. Music wise my tastes are broad but I hate the R & B that my kids listen to - Grrr!!

I would love to say I’ve travelled extensively, climbed Kilimanjaro, dived off the Great Barrier Reef and trekked across the ice of Antarctica but sadly that is all in my dreams :o( Never say never though – who knows what the future brings. My ambitions include wanting to eat Lobster Thermidor, (preferably freshly caught) make love in the surf (preferably in a hot country!), have a barbie on an Aussie beach, see the Maldives before they sink and have a man sing the Cornetto song to me on a gondola in Venice.

I want to find a man who loves me like I love him, makes me laugh, respects me, my feelings and my views (as I would his), is my best friend, soulmate, enjoys conversation (no wall flowers please) and truly my other half. I take people on face value so please don't lie. I'm not interested in anything short term, and I don't do one night stands. I hate kissing ashtrays so please no smokers!! I have one life and I want to live it to the full.

I'm loving, affectionate, passionate, scrub up pretty well for an old 'un' and now looking to settle down and live a happy, contented life and be ‘stupidly happy’ (sorry pinched that off someone else’s profile but it totally describes what I’m looking for)

My hobbies and interests

Cooking	I love cooking. I trained to be a chef but don't work as one now. Love all types of food and cook at least one new recipe a week. Love to experiment and only dislike turnips!!
Shopping	I do mystery shopping as part of my job so shopping is not something I tend to enjoy. If I see something I like when working I'll buy it then - saves the long slog of looking another day. Prefer to buy off the internet.
DIY	I'm not too bad although I often think I can do something and then come unstuck. Am a good painter and decorator and am told my 'cutting in' is very neat. And I wall papered around all the pipes in my cloakroom like an expert!!!
Housework	I like the house to be clean and tidy but I'm not anal about it. Often the ironing is out or there are loads of magazines etc on the coffee table. My house is a home and a place to relax, not a show home. I have a fridge magnet that says 'Housework is waste of a brilliant mind' - I tend to agree.
Dining out	I enjoy eating out and eat all sorts. I usually order fish dishes and I love cheese as well. I like spicy food but not to blow my head off - I'd rather appreciate the flavours!
Movies	My favourite films are The Green Mile and Titanic - I prefer to watch something that makes me happy so love comedy. My favourite actors are Adam Sandler, Tom Hanks and Sandra Bullock.
Theatre	I'm not sure I'm a culture vulture but my all time favourite musical is Les Mis. I've also seen Mamma Mia (much better live than at the cinema) and Joseph & his Technicolour Dreamcoat. Would love to see more musicals. My daughter is in amateur dramatics and I enjoy the performances that they put on as well.
Music	Music wise my tastes are varied and I have a diverse collection. I do music surveys for the Performing Rights Society and get to see lots of different types of band, singer etc in all sorts of venues which sometimes makes for a superb night out while being paid and sometimes is absolutely dire :o(
Gigs	The gigs I go to are usually associated with work for PRS (See above) but I like to go to live music if I can and have seen all sorts from Simply Red to Gabrielle. Really enjoyed the 'Here and Now' tours with the old 80s singers - and have been twice (although Paul Young was dire?)
Pubs	I'm happy in a pub but prefer ones where you can sink into a nice comfy sofa and chat - no point if you have to shout. Country pubs by the river in the summer, or the open fire in winter can't be beaten.
Clubbing	I don't go to clubs much nowadays but if I do its a club/bar rather than a night club and you will have a job keeping me off the dance floor. I love dancing - often do it at home instead of keep fit. Much more fun!
Newspapers and magazines	I don't have a daily paper but if I buy one its usually Saturday's Daily Mail. Hate the red tops and occasionally buy The Times but again only at the weekend and usually wish I could have it delivered so I can sit in bed with a cuppa and read.
Books	I'm reading 'Shut up, stop whining and Get a Life' at the moment! Its not a novel and it pulls no punches. Also got 'Confessions of a Slummy Mummy' on the go too for when the other one gets a little heavy going.
TV	Sad to sat the tv is usually on a bit too much but sometimes no one is actually watching it. Like comedy the best and love Frasier and Sex and the City. Friends is also a favourite. I also like quizzes like Eggheads
Watching sport	I'm not really into sport. I can take it in small doses and will watch when England are in a final (not very often then). Do support a footie team but not particularly bothered if they win or lose. Its a game - there is more to life.
Playing sport	I like to keep fit and have a cross trainer at home. I really want to start running and eventually do the marathon but not sure my old creaky knees are up to it now.
Hobbies	I don't have any strange pastimes or strange collections. I love to enter competitions, cook and spend time in good company. Running a home and bringing up two teenagers, working and seeing my friends seems to take up all my time.

My hopes and dreams

In ten years I see myself	In ten years time I would like to be in an established relationship that I am happy and content in. I want to still be as much in love as when I first fell in love. I'd like my internet business to be well established and earning me a decent income and I'd like my children to be happily settled in their chosen careers and possibly married. Hopefully they won't make me a Nan too soon though lol
Who would I invite to a dinner party?	Marilyn Monroe, Robin Williams, Adam Sandler.
My ideal date	Maybe meet in a coffee bar (but I'd have tea) and chat to get to know each other. Have to go and put more money on the car parking meter because we are getting on so well then maybe go for a meal and onto a pub sitting on that comfy sofa I mentioned above. An ideal date would lead to a lasting relationship and we'd be disappointed when 'last orders' was called and we had to part.
What would I never, ever give up?	My children - they will always come first and I would expect that of a partner if they have children.
If I had to give a speech on a subject I was passionate about ...	I feel quite passionate about few things and stories in the papers and on the news often make me mad and want to put the world to rights. Right now I'm really angry about all the foreigners in our country getting free NHS treatment, education and housing.
If I could visit anywhere in the world at any time in history	I'd love to live somewhere warm and sunny because our winters always seem so long and dark. I was a 60s baby and think I'd have liked to have been a 60s teen or 20 something.
If I had a million pounds to give to charity	Definitely a cancer or children's charity. My father died of cancer when I was 7 and my mother has recently recovered from this horrid disease. I would love to see a cure for cancer in my lifetime. I sponsor a little African girl (called Angel) - its only £15 a month but that means she can have clothes and get an education.
My "and finally" section ...	I've been divorced 8 years and have had a few relationships that obviously haven't lasted. I know what I'm looking for and won't accept second best - been there, done that. I work for myself and enjoy the independence that gives me. I am looking for a friend and soulmate as well as a lover. Looks are not hugely important but obviously the first attraction is down to appearance. Not sure what else to say - I'm sure I can amend this as time goes on.
