Meursault    (29) from Surrey

Well I'm not entirely sure where to start, so lets start with the basics - I'm 184cm tall (that's about 6'1"), athletic build, dark hair, broad shoulders and apparently a 'curly-lipped' cheeky smile. Average? - Perhaps, though average is not a word I really associate with myself, for better or worse!

I'm an artistic/creative, self-confident, thoughtful and good humoured person (not to mention modest!), both personally and professionally. I can be a little shy and quiet when I first meet someone, which can make me seem somewhat cold, reserved or even arrogant. But this is not an accurate reflection of what I'm really like. Once I get beyond that initial barrier, I'm more open and friendly. I'm probably the most laid back and easy going person I know. I don't really get unduly stressed or worried about life, it's not worth wasting it on that sort of strife! But having said that, I'm not averse to a good argument and I'm certainly capable of sticking up for myself, my family and friends.

I'm not a heavy drinker, someone's who's chemically dependent or into clubbing. I don't really see the attraction, but each to their own. I'd prefer for example to talk (utter nonsense through to deep philosophy, depending on the mood), go to a museum or art gallery, have a tea or a coffee in good company in a quiet little cafe somewhere interesting, maybe talking, maybe just people watching. I also like to read, to draw or paint, amble around the countryside (there's nothing like walking in the countryside rain, or shine, or overcast...), go to a comedy club or see some live music. I also like white water rafting, karting, playing pretty much any sort of sport (but I'm not a sports fanatic), watching a film - I prefer films that are plot/character driven rather than those which are effects or 'star' based, but I don't mind the odd mainstream. What else? Listening to music, in which I have a very broad taste, and traveling of course, although I haven't done nearly as much as I'd have like to.

Well, I hope all of this that doesn't make me sound like a 'snob' or a 'bore' - although I'm sure to some people I'm both!  

I'd like to meet someone with similar interests to my own, who I can really get to know and understand over time. Someone who, for example, might have the a drink or two when they go out, but doesn't go out to get drunk (well, not that often anyway.) Someone who finds that watching a good film, talking with friends or just enjoying each others company, is slightly more interesting than drinking like a fish all night or spending all night clubbing!
That's not to say that I don't have a sense of humour or adventure, don't know how to have fun, can't have a childish laugh or that I don't like going out, but not that sort of 'going out'. Besides, there's nothing wrong with chilling out at home occasionally.
