Mariell (57) from the West Midlands

Hi. I'm 5'7" with blue eyes and dark blond hair. I come from a university and professional background and I am an independent person. I am interested in the theatre and the arts and I enjoy intelligent conversation, people who make me laugh, writing, painting and photography. I like live music and once was the lead singer in a band. I have been researching my family tree and have been very successful with one side of the family going back hundreds of years. I enjoy travel, have been to China on two separate occasions and will be going to Malaysia to stay with friends early in 2012. I have two dogs and, in an effort to tire them out, I like going for long country walks! My family are all grown up and no longer at home.

I'd like to meet a man of a similar age and background who has interests in common. He should be preferably 5'9" or taller. Honesty is very important to me as I feel it is the basis for a good relationship, whether it be friendship or otherwise. I still have friends that I knew from my schooldays, so I would want a sociable person but also someone who understands the important of being independent.
